broken tumble dryer... sort of

hi

Hoping ive posted this on the right thread

ive got a condenser tumble drier, its about 2 years old.

it still works but is not heating, so just spins damp clothes about.

does anyone know if its easy and cheep to fix?

Shoptilidrop, we get this from time to time with our dryer. It's a safety mechanism. On ours, if you unscrew the back panel there is a little red button that you can push with a screwdriver and then it heats again.
I think the safety thing kicks in when you have a too heavy load or a power cut.

no, cant get the back panel off mine, only the top ( have just tried, now have tumble dryer in bits in garage!!)

cant see any red button, just fuse box type thing and lots of wires......... i think i am out of my depth!! lol

mind you for the momment ive just left it like that in the garage and will sort it out tomorrow!

My reset button was just hidden in a hole on the back of the dryer. If you can't find your instructions look at the manufacturers website, you can often download them from there.

Check the filters are all clean just in case that triggered it.
