Roast beef - cast iron pot???

I usually do roast beef in slow cooker - bung it in for 8 hours on low and job done!
Tomorrow, I need to roast some beef but slow cooker is out of commission. I have a cast iron pot that I thought I could use in the normal oven instead as I don't have a Pyrex roaster and the roasting dish I use for turkey at Christmas would cause it to dry out.
Would it just be 20 mins to the pound and 20 minutes over in the normal oven in cast iron pot with lid?

What sort of beef is it, does it need slow cooking or is it ok faster?
I think that time is for not slow so any old dish will do.

Thank you for getting back to me. It's a housekeepers cut. It's beautiful slow cooked but have had it oven cooked before just don't know about timings.

Ah, needs to be slowly cooked. Will be lovely in the cast iron thing but I don’t know timings, just google ‘pot roast beef’. It’ll need a lower temperature. 160ish?
