Laminate flooring

We are having our light coloured living room carpet replaced with laminate / hard flooring next week ( the carpet was perfect before 2 kids & a cat).

I've never had hard flooring in a living room before and I'm wandering how best to clean keep it clean every day. A damp mop? A specialist mop? Rubber broom? All advice welcome, thanks!

I just hoover mine. Are you getting laminate or real hardwood or both?

I Hoover it daily and mop weekly (wiping up and spills & marks as needed). I mop with a really wrung out mop with the mop bucket water made up with boiling water from the kettle so that as much water as possible evaporates. (If you get laminate too wet and water gets down the cracks it can warp and lift) I then have to put an old bath towel down and shuffle it around with my feet to buff it off or else it dries streaky. It’s hard work.

Vacuuming is easy, I can manage that! Good suggestion about the boiling water & very wrung out mop. Thanks
