Morning all.

You've got a pissed off SuperMonkey this morning.

Went to bed at 8:15pm last night because I was knackered after minimonkey's shenanigans and frankly DSD was doing my head in. So I did my bedtime routine before I went up, place was spotless. Got up this morning at 6:00am with mini and had to tidy up AGAIN, the rest of the house had gone to bed and left all their shit lying around. So I didn't get any of the nice warm feelings this morning from coming down to a clean and tidy house .

So I've decided I'm setting rules (don't know what the penalties should be for non-compliance). You will notice that none of these are exactly onerous, more like the type of things that every normal human does as a matter of course:

  1. If you've finished with something, put it back where you got it from
  2. If you create rubbish, put it in the bin
  3. If you've finished something (eg toilet roll, sugar), replace it
  4. If you spill something, wipe it up
  5. If there's something of yours on the stairs when you go up/down, take it with you
  6. When you leave a room, turn the light off
  7. Put dirty washing in the basket when you take it off
  8. Put dirty crockery in the dishwasher (or on top if it is on)
  9. If a bin is full, empty it

Can anyone think of any more? Remember, I'm having to state the bleeding obvious here.

Rant over. Mini slept 11 hours so no complaints there. The sun is shining as brightly as my sink.

Catch you all later.

That's my biggest gripe at the moment - have the exact same problem with my three.

Hope today gets better.

I'm orf to work now, but I've been on the bike. Only on here because I forgot to print something off a disc for the younger two, and I can't get the CD drive to read the disk, so that was a waste of time, lol.

unknownrebelbang · 20/10/2007 08:52

And I've just pulled the front off the tower! greeeeaaaat.

Shannaratiger · 20/10/2007 11:51

Morning all

supermonkey, great rules will remember to write those down.
Finished icing the birthday cake at 9:30 last night Used the icing bag successfully though,am going to practice loads so next year will be able to pipe perfectly but will probably be about 3 stone heavier!

Am waiting for dd's friends to turn up.

Catch u later

systemsaddict · 20/10/2007 12:21

Fabulous rules supermonkey - if I could only stick to them myself, let alone the rest of the house, I probably wouldn't need to FLY!

Oh it made such a difference having my clothes laid out this morning so I could shower and dress as soon as ds got us up at 6.15 ... Have also done my load of washing so I could hang it out in the sunshine - rather forced into that one as I have no trousers left for me and ds at all after today and methinks it's a bit cold for shorts!

I like today's babystep. If it took Flylady a month per habit, then me and Trinity are doing fine!!

TrinityRhino · 20/10/2007 12:22

morning all, feeling slightly better than norm this morning
Going to sort the sink soon

mylastrolo · 21/10/2007 00:40

I've got number 10 for my list:

  1. If you take off an item of clothing, put it away where it belongs
unknownrebelbang · 21/10/2007 14:05

Ok, so I've not stuck to flylady over the last couple of days, but...

SUCCESS no 1: I went to a wedding last night, and I just opened my wardrobe doors and chose what I wanted to wear, instead of scrabbling around for something.

SUCCESS no 2: I've done a general (very superficial) pre-holiday tidyround this morning, and it's not taken long, whereas normally I'm up til all hours.

SUCCESS no 3: We've not yet packed, but I know more or less where everything is that we need for a few days away.

I've still got a LONG way to go until everything is sorted, but thanks to these threads and your support, my home is in a much better condition than it was four weeks ago!

Here's hoping I get stuck back in when we get back!

SuperMonkey · 21/10/2007 15:47

Sounds like a few of us are off for half term - we're going away tomorrow morning for 4 nights (just London, doing the touristy things, bit like a busman's holiday really). At this point previously I would be getting very het up about the state of the house, I get really down when I come back to a scruffy house after a holiday so I usually spend ages tidying before I go. But this time no need . If I just follow my normal routine tonight and tomorrow morning everything will be just fine.

Hopefully you won't do much while I'm away then I'll be able to catch up.

Hold on - if we're on day 26 now, that means you'll have done all 31 days when I get back . Where will I find you all? Where will you be? On the grown-up ladies FLY thread?

unknownrebelbang · 21/10/2007 21:10

Think I'll need a recap when I get back!

Got to read through, but Mon is here
