need ideas for decorating hallway

We are starting it this weekend ,I want a bright red stair carpet and was thinking about doing the walls a creamy sort of colour. Then I went on the dulux website and tried out diffrent colours and a cocoa colour seemed to go nice with the red.
What do you think will look best with the red? our hallway is quite small.

cocoa walls in a small hallway will make it look really dark and dingy, surely? I think cream.. the red will be enough statement so the walls should be neutral..I think

Cocoa sounds lovely with red but agree, not in a hallway. Think halls need to be light light light
