remove dry plaster off skirting boards?

Use a credit card or loyalty card to scrape off.

nope, just tried that before i saw this, it split the card?..or is that cos it was my old leisure link card, not a cridet card?, are they tougher??

How t hick? If thick then you could GENTLY use a scraper

If thin, then rub vigorously with hot soapy water and a cloth

Making it wet sould soften it, Ive got it all over my white bathroom suite and just cant face tackling it.

welll..i will be painting the woodwork in next couple of weeks, so scrpaer would be ok as ill have to sane woodwork andway?/..will give it a go...wheres the bloody scraper?...

mamaG is it normal then for the plastering to look a bit rough in some areas toward skirting?, and not actually meet the skirting in some places?..not huge gaping holes, but i was so concerned with big walls looking nice ive only noticed the roughness whie im cleaning it?, might be normal as im sure its hard to ge trowel into spaces like that?

DH has done our whole house and has taken teh skirting off in most areas

Where he hasn't its not rough at ALL

so no, not normal iMO
