morning
no flying happening at the mo here
we have to leave the house in 10 mins and I still need to change the baby and by god is it freezing outside today.

SuperMonkey · 18/10/2007 08:38

Morning all.

Yep, winter is officially here - DP missed his train as he had to scrape ice off the car.

Now, doe this happen to anyone else (or did it when your DCs were babies), or is it just me who's slightly deranged? Woke up in the night (looked at the clock, it was 1:10am), MiniMonkey was crying so I went in to get him, brought him back to bed with me and fed him. Then fell asleep. Woke up with a start at 1:20am, panicked that I'd dropped him because I wasn't holding him anymore, couldn't find him, checked under the covers, stripped the bed looking for him. No sign of him at all . Then I realised it was all a dream, went through to his room and he was sound asleep in his cot. You can believe I might fall for this once, but it happens every night. How loopy am I?

SuperMonkey · 18/10/2007 08:39

Still can't do bold

systemsaddict · 18/10/2007 08:49

LOL Supermonkey - my best example of this is when ds was a few months old, had just moved into his own room, I was woken up (as usual, several times a night) by the baby monitor and in my befuddled state had the most wonderful realisation - why on earth did I need to go all the way upstairs to his room? The noise was here, I could sort it out without leaving the bed! So there I was, sat on the bed, holding the baby monitor to my boob ... then I woke up properly ...

V little flying yesterday as I took a bit of a hormonal dip and sat around feeling sorry for myself, but did make sure sink was shiny before bed. Feel much better today - sink is shined, washing up done, dishwasher emptied, refilled and run, one load of washing on and another going on straight afterwards. Starting off the day getting things sorted will hopefully carry through ... don't want another day like yesterday!!

SuperMonkey · 18/10/2007 08:52

Oh SA, ROFL, that's much funnier than my story

flowerybeanbag · 18/10/2007 10:14

Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh

I was completely washed out after going out yesterday. DS didn't sleep virtually at all at nap time yesterday and didn't feed well at all yesterday. Had a bad night as well, as a result all 3 of us overslept this morning.
Then he didn't feed well at his morning feed and then didn't go down for his morning nap -he's only just fallen asleep and normally sleeps for an hour from about 8.30.
I have done nothing today apart from get dressed to shoes and make up . However I didn't manage to have a shower [grubby emoticon] and does it count if it's yesterday's make up still on?

And of course I haven't phoned the doctor's either. At my surgery you have to book appts on the day, which means you have to be on the phone trying to get through at 8.30. Which I was not.

Off now, will try and sort myself out and will be back later.

flowerybeanbag · 18/10/2007 10:26

And how bad is it that I just cracked open my second Diet Coke of the day?

systemsaddict · 18/10/2007 11:02

Diet Coke = sensible coping strategy flowery! Days like this the best advice is to go back to newborn mode and sleep when he sleeps - hope you get some recovery time today!

Bienchen · 18/10/2007 11:24

Trinity - how are you getting on?

Flowery - sorry to hear about non-sleeping baby. I know how you feel as it is the same here. When DD is in a good mood, feeds well and eats well, then I'm fine. If she is having a bad patch, then everything goes pearshaped and I get very down.

DP has a day holiday today to sit his OU exam, so he's pacing the house. He will do a couple of useful steps as well as change some money and fill up the car.

Slightly amended routine for today.

Go to bed early and get up v early!!

Have a good weekend all and I try to check in Tuesday am!

purpleturtle · 18/10/2007 12:25

Yesterday was a write off here too. Today I've been out all morning, putting off coming home because it's a tip
But I'm here now, and I think that today I need a proper list. So I've nicked Bienchen's and amended it!

Clear away breakfast stuff
empty dishwasher
Empty washing machine and hang up washing
2 minute hotspot (which one?!)
Make beds
Read control journal and reminders
5 minute room
Kelly's mission (clean taps, etc)
What's for tea? (all eating at college) done!

15 minutes for me (Neighbours )

OK. Off to get started...

purpleturtle · 18/10/2007 13:06

Clear away breakfast stuff done
empty dishwasher done
Empty washing machine and hang up washing done
2 minute hotspot (which one?!)
Make beds done
Read control journal and reminders
5 minute room rescue (living/dining room, methinks)
Kelly's mission (clean taps, etc) done
What's for tea? (all eating at college) done!
ironing
put cleaning washing away

Apparently, on a good day I can get quite a lot done in half an hour! Shame there aren't a few more good days in the week really.

CindersNeedsHelp · 18/10/2007 13:37

SA ? re yesterday, nowt wrong with Cheerios! And LOL at BF baby monitor!
Trinity ? well done on making a start. ?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step? Lao Tzu Yesterday you went to bed with a shiny sink. Try to do that again tonight and let that be enough for today! It will pick up. Seriously one babystep at a time, even if it takes a while!
Bienchen ? good luck with job application and enjoy the break
SuperMonkey ? over your lovely new control journal. Mine is an old folder. Bit battered, but does the job. Not got detailed cleaning lists yet, but I am still decluttering. Will be for ages I suspect! Can?t say I ever dreamed like that. Sounds really scvary though to think you?ve lost your baby!
funnypeculiar ? I?ve never been to a gay wedding. Must tell us all about it next week!
flowerybeanbag ? hope you get to call Dr tomorrow! Chin up!
purpleturtle ? well done on productive half hour!

washing
dishwasher
kitchen surfaces
sink

Bienchen · 18/10/2007 14:59

Just read my last post and it should read eats well and sleeps well.... maybe that's why she pooed eight times yesterday...

SuperMonkey · 18/10/2007 19:45

Flowery I think we're a day behind you here. MiniMonkey has slept for a total of about an hour today, he's been an absolute misery but after much cajoling I've put him to bed an hour early. Fingers crossed he's out for the night.

Despite his antics I've managed to have a fairly constructive day, got everything done I should have done, so having a chill in front of 'Enders, Waterloo Road and Who Do You Think You Are.

Cinders I think you're right about the dream, I must be scared that I'm going to hurt him and lose him. You would think though that after 5 months I would have stopped falling for it by now!

Have a good evening all.

Shannaratiger · 18/10/2007 20:32

Sleep well all (& no snuggling up with baby monitors

unknownrebelbang · 18/10/2007 22:17

Evening all.

Exercise bike and get ready
Make the bed.

Laundry. Yes. Just put in uniform a day early too - it's one of those little things that I really like when I can get the uniform washed a day early,

Reminders, routine and journal, etc
Read and Delete emails

Mission - still to do other room bits.

Hot spot - to do
Five min room rescue - had a general tidy round the lounge and kitchen this morning before work, and whilst it's still a work in progress, it felt good knowing it was reasonable and hadn't taken hours to sort.
15 minutes - to do - still on the bedroom cupboards.
My personal 15 mins - MN will have to do today.

Shiny Sink - done.
Clothes ready for me - boys can choose their own, non-uniform for eldest, and youngest have started their half-term hols.

unknownrebelbang · 18/10/2007 22:19
