Good morning all

As seems tobe usual, I have another busy day lined up. I have decided to go into town before toddler group to do my errands then so I have time afterwards to come home and do a bit of FLYing before my mum and dad get here. I need to buy a present for my nephew but my parents have to fly with it for him and I think the wooden pirate ship I have is going to be too heavy so I need a back up plan in place.

Coco - do you ever go out and leave jacket potatoes in the oven cooking, or leave the heating on when you are out? No more risky to leave a slow cooker on imo. (I do have a friend who admitted to buying ready cooked jacket potatoes recently so she could avoid just this "risk" while on the school run, so you aren't alone.)

ok. It is 7.00 and I'm sat in my pjs. I will go and get as much of my morning routinedone as I can, and report back before the school run.

Morning Guys,

Morning routine almost done.

Swimming & library this morning.

DD2 having morning nap already and I need to get DD1 dressed.

Coco - Jas's advice is good. Take stuff off that you do every day like feed kids I also like the idea of giving DH a couple of jobs each day Might try that, although since getting back into FLYing DH has been loading diswasher without prompting!

TheMadScaryHouse · 18/10/2007 08:39

Morning guys

Busy day for me today, shopping, house blessing day and I also still have ironong to catch up from the holiday, which was fab did I say

Is everyone better?

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 18/10/2007 09:02

Just cleaned red wine stain off carpet with something called 'Stain Slayer'. It seems to be the dogs bolleaux as I can see no trace of stain. Will give it a few days and report back. If it wortks I have 3 other stains to tackle on my beige living room carpet.

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 09:12

Morning all

Coco I also think Jas offers sound advice. I hope you find a way to feel less overwhelmed by it all

FGS ohh, I may need to try some of that, we have a carefully placed table in our living room due to a cup of tea spillage on our pale carpet. Thanks for the tip

simply hope you found the motivation you needed last night

I have another busy day too. I have a haircut appt in about 30minutes. I'll be doing the usual routines (all still working well) and also need to pop into town for some bits from the shops and to run some errands for dh. I had a last minute burst of energy (and a pang of panic about the PiL coming to stay this weekend) so had quite a big tidy up last night. Thursday is bedding change day and tidy upstairs day so I'd better get on.

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 09:20

Oh, oh, forgot to say...
I reached my 2 stone off target today Would like to lose another 6lbs and I'll be my pre-babies weight

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 18/10/2007 09:20

Well Done Bianca!

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 09:23

thanks FGS, feeling rather pleased with myself Those last 4lbs have been a PITA but I finally got here

yaddayah · 18/10/2007 09:31

Well done Bianca !

Can you throw some motivation over here please (after losing 3 stone I have now put a stone back on and i'm really going backwards fast )

Got to get my butt in gear today, I have loads to do.. and i'm sat her amid chaos listening to Starry Starry Night

sob

Simply · 18/10/2007 09:36

Hello to all. Just a quickie as I'm not showered and dressed yet. I'll do that in a mo.

Jas Thanks for the thread. Have you had brekkie yet?

Hi Funky and TMSH. Well done BC. I didn't find as much motivation as I hoped. I did ring a friend who is now coming for tea tonight and I did find a new au pair website but I think I'm going to jack in the idea or else advertise to share one. I really don't have enough childcare needs for a full time au pair and agencies seem to recommend very limited housework hours so unless they were happy to get a job working locally, I don't know what they'd (she'd) do all day. [sigh] Oh, yes, I want to e-mail you too.

W/m is about to end. D/w is on. I hope there is some hot water available for me. I'm going to crack on and see you later!

spookybatoscar · 18/10/2007 10:07

Coco I stopped making lists really, I just do what needs doing and put that down as 'done' therefore I have achieved. A huge list of 'TO Do's' was just setting me up to fail really.

Kelly can be way too prescriptive TBH. The FLY thread has helped me improve the standard of my house but the people are great, thats why I keep popping back. Don't loose heart.

Morning All

Ed had filled his mouthorgan with sand. I've blown and sucked it out and now I have sand in my back molars

Done lots already and there is more to get done but I'm having some 'me' time. The house will not implode if I don't vac the front room. Got a killer sore throat so I wont push it.

Done
Up
Showered
Downstairs with laundry
Load WM
Make packed lunches
Make breakfast
Empty DW
Tidy away
Get dressed
S&S bathroom
S&S loo
Wash Ed
Dress Ed
Take him to school
Play with nursery kids for 15 mins (I held a stick insect!)
Home
Check in with work
MN time

To do

Make lunch
Do my reading Friends session
Collect Ed
Play Learning Land with him

And that's it

Have good days everyone

Simply · 18/10/2007 10:28

Sorry I missed you there yadda. I'm a stone heavier than about 18 mths ago so I know how you feel. I'm due to take out membership to use the members only swimming pool in town at the beginning of next month as dd wants to go swimming with me regularly so I hope to work some of it off then.

Look after yourself with that killer sore throat go. Have a good gargle with salt water if you can. It should help your throat and get rid of some of that sand, too.

Right. Off to do some more. See you later.

ludaghoul · 18/10/2007 11:41

Good Morning All

Our visitors have just left, they are off to the Lakes for a week lucky devils. They were good friends from years ago when I worked and didn't have children, and one was celebrating their 50th birthday. It has been soooo lovely to see them, we don't get the chance to meet that often. We had a yummy meal and a nice evening out last night, so I am feeling very happy today ....slightly sad to see them go

The house is a tip however! I haven't been in to tidy it! They stayed at one of the pubs in the village, so I haven't had to make it look presentable, as we have been out and about showing them the sights.

Must spend the next hour or so catching up!

DD1 has her Harvest Festival at 2pm so will go and watch her singing then

Simply · 18/10/2007 11:44

Hi luda. I'm glad you've had a nice time. Can you (or anyone else) fill me in on the underlining and adverts that I see in posts? Have they suddenly appeared this morning?

Off to do more.

ludaghoul · 18/10/2007 11:47

ooooh I have no idea...I wondered that though when I read Bianca's post earlier...

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 11:53

Aww, yadda The main difference I've made to my diet etc is to eat with the kids rather than pick at the kids supper and then eat with dh later in the evening. We do try to eat togther at the weekends but I try to be extra good during the week to allow for bigger meals at the weekends. I also try to walk and cycle as much as I can - I'd never do any excersize if I thought of it as a chore so I just walk and cycle with the kids if we need to get out and about locally rather than making so much use of the car

Luda glad you've had a good few days Sounds like fun

simply, Grouchy hello

I've had my haircut, chatted with a neighbour for about 45minutes and now have to dash to collect ds - therefore I have hardly done anything FLYwise today! Must make more progress later!

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 11:54

Hmm, I was wondering that too Luda....

EvilHM · 18/10/2007 12:31

Afternoon All

Finished my morning routine after returning from Mish Mash Music with Ellie. Sink cleaned as part of morning routine, dont have counter tops in bathroom. Although I have wiped, skirting boards, window ledges, light switches, door panels & furniture in the 3 bedrooms today. I've also hoovered upstairs. Just having lunch then will get ready for Birthday party as 3pm.

jas thanks for the link. I agree about leaving slow cooker on. I've even put mine on at night before I go to bed. Do you Mum & Dad have far to fly?
Quick Hello to coco,FGS, simply, yadd, luda & scarymad bianca so very pleased for you.must feel fab
grouchyhope you feel better.

Still need to sweep & mop floors downstairs & iron. Will do floors now & iron tonight. Have a great afternoon everybody.x.

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 18/10/2007 13:12

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the great advice.

Jas I would leave the boiler on when I'm out the house, and prob leave potatoes in oven... I leave the WM on, obviously, but do you know what, I always glance at it anxiously before I leave!

Funky Stain Slayer sounds like a necessity in our house, our floor is COVERED in red wine stains. The cat is forever knocking over bottles! (Not me, honest!)

Luda glad you have had a nice time .

Well done on the weight loss, Bianca. I have to lose a stone of baby weight, but it is really hard to shift this time round.

oscar rest up and take it easy if you're poorly!

ScaryMonsterStories · 18/10/2007 13:29

Afternoon everyone. I am on a super-speedy Thursday FLY today as I am supposed to be leaving for school run 45mins earlier to watch a play. Unfortunately DD3 is still batting around in her cot so at this rate I may have to cancel so she can get her full sleep.

As far as my jobs for the afternoon are concerned:

  1. Stop eating Chilli sensations (just for Jas to have a little giggle at )
  2. Clear airer and put away
  3. Make sure swimming bag is packed
  4. empty last nights washing --> airer
  5. put on 1 load of washing
  6. Get DTDs disco stuff ready

HECTic day.

At 2:30 I have a school play to watch
At 3:05 out of school - including a friend I collect
At 4:00 swimming lesson (walk past pool on way home so don't bother coming back in between)
Dressed & home (hopefull) by 4:45 for sandwich tea & get ready for disco
5:30 leave here for 5:45 disco
Home for me and DD3 about 6ish only to turn around at 6:30 to go back to collect DTDs
HOme about 7pm...washed changed & bed (and thats just me!!!!).

DP isn't finishing till 7:30 tonight in amongst all that lot ...still DDs will have eaten so it will be a takeaway for us .

Coco I manage my list by not doing every thing every day. For eg. I only tend to S&S every other day ...still that is at least 3 times more a week than I used to do it .

Oh and when I get back I have feedback on my discussions with teacher about poorly tummy, no food & drink incident....but don't have time now...

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 18/10/2007 13:47

Hope it goes well with the teacher, SMS. I saw your thread .

Twins DDs going to a disco = so sweet!

Ah, all gorne to pot already!

Ed is home and is not allowed in school. His chin scuff has developed into impetigo. Appointment at GP booked for 5 then I'll collect the cream and slake him in it

So I have him for a week and 3 days

ButI've had chance to

Rescue my cinder toffee (Reheat, add more sugar and bicarb)
Make Nigella's (overly rich and indulgent) Rocky Road Crunch bars. I suggest replacing the plain chocolate with milk chocolate)

As well, off to sterilise the house now...Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

BiancaCastafiore · 18/10/2007 15:32

I am running round like a headless chicken today
Nothing is going to plan!

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 18/10/2007 15:42
