Just purchased new duvet and pillows

Now in need of the bedding sets.

I dont really do pink
No flowers
No butter flies
No live love laugh kinda stuff
Nothing white ill only ruin it Blush

Apologies for the lengthy criteria

I love black and purple and grey and generally prefer darker coloursfor bedding , stars and tie dye kinda patterns or geometricy stuff.

Basically nothing I will ruin by an accidental wash with a red t shirt or coffee spill Blush

All suggestions gratefully received

Tia

M&S have really nice bedding, and they feel lovely to sleep in , as well as being non iron - I have had cheaper sets from Dunelm but they felt coarser and not as comfortable.

Nsky · 15/11/2020 18:20

Secret linen, fab stuff and all cotton, the important bit

Whatwouldscullydo · 15/11/2020 18:30

Thank you both i shall visit the sites .

Didnt see anything on the dunelm.site I liked when I ordered the bedding.

Seems their measurements also don't line up with the sizes of sheets and duvet either 😬

If only everything were a standard size Grin

La Redoute have lots of nice options

Rainbowshine · 15/11/2020 18:51

IKEA bedding is nice, lots of choice and tumble dries easily

Fishfingersandwichplease · 15/11/2020 18:55

I got a lovely silver geometric one from Sainsbury's last month

Whatwouldscullydo · 15/11/2020 18:57

Ok so I've spotted on I like.on the la redoute..

My duvet is gonna be 200x220 which according to the dunelm site I purchased from is a king size yet appears to be smaller than the king size measurements elsewhere and slightly too big for the double size.

How bad is it with extra material ?

A too big duvet cover is one of the things I would put into room 101 it’s so bad. Don’t do it!!!

As I suspected...

Life just appears to have been made more difficult by the duvet and I just looked at a different grand of duvet to compare sizes and let's just say both are too small for the king-size beddings but too big fir the double size..

Why...

Jusy why..

Dorma bedding brand is lovely quality they do stock it in Dunelm alongside their own bedding range.

ScarletPower · 21/11/2020 19:10

I know you said no white, but I'm hitting you with my gorgeous bedding :-)

www.dunelm.com/product/mandalay-white-duvet-cover-and-pillowcase-set-1000167158?colour=White&duvetCoversSize=Kingsize

Nicest duvet set I have ever had.

I went back and got a similar one - www.dunelm.com/product/astra-textured-white-duvet-cover-and-pillowcase-set-1000159709

I wash them on a 60 wash (not a quick wash, a proper one that takes 1.5h), put some white vanish powder in the drawer and tumble dry on a low heat inside out (but when the drying weather gets back I'll peg them out). They are staying white so far.

MotherFeeder · 21/11/2020 19:11

Probably too late to this game but check out Dusk. We like their sateen range... great quality

Whatwouldscullydo · 21/11/2020 19:13

You are a braver person than me Grin

I'd take it in dark grey black or navy...

My la redoute bedding arrived today looks nice. I will be spending tomorrow making my bed now the last of the packages arrived today ..

I'm extremely excited Blush

Sorry op,I didn’t read the thread and didn’t realise you’d bought. Pics tomorrow required!

Bluntness100 · 21/11/2020 19:32

I’ve just fallen in love with this. I love green. All our bedding is white as said though ( daughter is 23 and has her own place) and the last thing I need is more bedding, but something about the dark green velvet look is making me go ooh,,,but I need to resist. 😂

Whatwouldscullydo · 21/11/2020 19:44

115 Shock

I'm.used to getting bedding in primark or wilko.. these prices are a shock it has to be said..

However they are gorgeous

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 21/11/2020 20:10

Yes it’s bloody extortionate. Hence why I need to resist. Sigh.

I actually buy my own on Amazon, white is actually very cost effective because you can just replace any given part when needed, and it always matches. All beds have white linen on now.
