Good morning

Thanks for the thread ScaryHouse

I need to clear the medicine cupboard so will be trying to fit this mission in today.

Wednesday is usually my laundry day (ironing, repairing and putting away) but I'm pushed for time today with one thing and another so I'm not sure I'll have time to do it.
I also need to fit in my hour of reading with the reception class at school.

I'd better go and get on with it all, see you later x

TheMadScaryHouse · 17/10/2007 09:18

Morning ALL

Thanks for the thread TMScaryHouse I wish I was organised as you this morning routine & tea done
bianca hope you get done what you need too & that the reading goes well.

Sleep patterns for Ellie still all over the place except last night was less unsettled. we didn't wake until 9am So really running behind we have just finished breakfast.

Thankfully medicine cabinet still in good shape from last time. I even put the medication due to expire towards the front of the cabinet, next one due to expire is months away.

Have a great day all.x.x.

TheMadScaryHouse · 17/10/2007 11:56

evil The reason my morning routine was all done was that mine had me up at 6.30 - ah bliss 9am!!!!

Well back from swimming - lunch is cooling and towels in the washer.

Must clean the bath at lunchtime through.

Hi guys,

Morning routine done and halfway through afternoon routine. Not bad seeing as I've had 2 friends over for a cuppa and then been to see another friend while DD1 was at pre-school.

All lunching at the mo. Not sure I can be bothered to do this mission as I did it a few months ago. Managed to give the bathroom half a proper clean today so as long as I do the other half by the end of the week I'll be happy.

TheMadScaryHouse · 17/10/2007 13:54

Its quite on here today.

I have cleaned the bath, altered DS2 trip trap and cleaned it.

I have also baked an apple pie for tea and done my luchtime routine.

We are off to look at Sofas this fternoon, that should be interesting with a 16 month old and a 2.6 year old

I need to join you all but someone needs to give me energy first.

I have done the dishwasher twice. 3 washloads including nappies. Tided our room. Cleaned the main bathroom. Done the Asda shop. Taken the kids to school (obviously this isn't in order). Fed the youngest two. Stubbed my toe on the door.

Hello to all.

Sorry, I have read the thread but this is just a quick post. I'm on here looking for motivation. I've lots to do as so far I've been to work, come home, made tea and walked the dog with the kids. I need to load d/w, look at weather forecast to see if the 3 loads on the line should come in or stay there, feed the dog, get the kids off to bed and....I don't know what else! I'll see you all tomorrow.

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 17/10/2007 20:59

Hello everyone. Hope you've all had good days...

Please HELP! If anyone can be arsed, can you see anyway that I can make my daily list shorter? Or do I need to just stop being lazy and get my ass into gear?

I don't even cook or iron.. Ideally I need to start ironing some of my clothes and DD1's... At the mo I just try to hang them up as soon as the come out the WM, thus avoiding the worst creasing... DH irons his own stuff, won't let me near it!

Would also love to be able to say that I've rustled up a pie for tea, but I don't know how, and I wouldn't manage it with the baby wailing in her Bumbo and DD2 spinning round in circles all over the slippery laminate floor in the kitchen, bouncing off the cupboard doors and dusting the litter tray.

How do you lot manage it? [overwhelmed emoticon]

  6. Hang up wet washing/put away dry
  7. DD2?s physio
  8. Collect DD1 from nursery

  10. Declutter

  1. Tea for DDs
  2. Bath Dds, books and bed

EvilHM · 17/10/2007 21:02

Hi to coco x post

TheMadScaryHouse · 17/10/2007 21:36

Evening all

I had a really strange afternoon looking at the sofas, DS1 wanted to be carried everywhere, so no decision made. I have got the washer on again through and am thinking of having an early night.

Cocoa My list is really similar to yours, but I did deligate the cat and bins to DH. He has also started to empty the dishwasher on a morning and I put it on last thing at night. I also put the washer on last thing at night so it is all done in the morning. I also S&S in the morning whilst getting dressed and DS1 tried to make his own bed.

Food is a whole other issue. I have a slow cooker (think I have said this before) and I tend to do main meal at lunchtime so sometimes DH will do the veg for me the night before too.I pop it all in at breakfast time. I avoid the child issue with a stairgate at the door or I prep when they are asleep and cook when awake. re the pie I premake the pastry mix (without the water and freeze it) add the water and there is pastry (no need to defrost mixture) and add what ever even a tim of streing steak is fab in home made pastry.

I also freeze left overs and defrost them infact I have a freezer ful of child sized meals and mash and veg.

Sorry it turned into an essay

Coco - As you can see, my list is similar in length and content to yours. You could make it look shorter by removing non-housework stuff that I assume you already do every day anyway, like numbers 8, 13, 15 16 and 27

Ironing _- I ironed a shirt for dp to wear to a funeral this week, but other than that rarely do it, and 99% of the time you can't tell by the time we get to school anyway.
Food - Menu plan. I've stuck with it for a year now, and do loads of things I can prepare in advance, or at least at lunchtime when ds is asleep. I also bulk coo stuff like spag bol and freeze it. I also use my slow cooker when I know I'm going to be busy so I can get it all on the night before.

Sorry, I'm rambling now.

I've been helping at Brownies this evening. DD2 joins after 1/2 term so that will make my Wednesdays easier.

EvilHM · 17/10/2007 22:28

coco I really wish I could offer some advice. I think jas offers great advice as always. I only have one lo & take my hat off to anybody who has more than one & manages to do any housework, cooking etc. I freeze meals too, also do batch cooking for dd which saves time if I know she wont eat what we are having. Slow cooker is also great especially in the winter. Good Luck I think you are doing really well

EvilHM · 17/10/2007 22:30

oops also forgot to say 'madscary' has some great point too.

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 17/10/2007 23:41

Thanks MadScaryHouse, Jas and EvilHM

Don't apologise for long replies, I am delighted to get them!

I remember now, you have raved about slow cookers before. Perhaps I need to investigate this. I think I'd be a bit paranoid that the house would set on fire when I was out. Does that sound bonkers?!

Jas, I think you may be right about taking those things off my list. It does seem overwhelming to have 27 things to do each day when there are only 24 hours in the day, and as you say 5 of them get done regardless.

Nighty night.
