Wool bedding

My DH gets very hot overnight (family trait) and I am chilly. We currently have a waterproof bamboo mattress protector (due to having small children and the sweat) and a down duvet. Has anyone tried a wool duvet in similar circumstances and found an improvement? Thanks

I get very hot (perimenopause) and my other half is a chilly person in bed. I’ve had a Fogarty wool duvet for a year - I was originally a down person but developed an allergy so got wool rather than synthetic because I liked the heavier weight. I wouldn’t switch back now. I live in an old, cold house and it keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Switched to a top sheet for a couple of really humid nights during the summer, and had a hot water bottle on a couple of really cold nights just to warm the bed up but that’s it. It’s pretty thin, but neither he nor I have ever been cold.

We bought Wool Room duvets for everyone in our house. They're ok. Bought on sale last year.

A few niggles - they were sold as toddler/single/superking etc but they are not the exact size and don't quite fit the bedding properly. I find myself shaking the duvet to get it into the corners, especially my toddler's one.

We have kept it on all year instead of changing (we used to have a 13 tog and a 4 tog and swap between winter/summer). It's OK at the warm/cool thing but I find myself slightly colder than I'd like in the winter and wishing I had another blanket on.

It's weirdly thin. You get used to it but our old 13 tog one was like a big fluffy heavy cloud and DH misses that.

Thanks very much. We have the sizing issue with one of our children's duvets actually and she ends up with the duvet sliding down inside the cover and just the cover over her and gets cold. Not sure how to fix it. Weirdly doesn't happen with the other one. We are going to treat ourselves to a new superking bed and will have to increase bedding size, don't really want to end up with the same problem myself. Tonight though am boiling as DH is far too hot!!!
