Morning all.

MiniMonkey woke starving at 4:15am, which was quite surprising, but went easily back to sleep until 6:30am. So not too bad really.

Morning routine done, made my bed, just need to go and do everyone elses now. Must admit, Flowery* is right, it is much nicer getting into a made bed.

Need to go and hawk my car round some dealers today, I need a change (and I actually mean 'need' - it's getting too difficult getting a 20lb 6oz baby into the back of a 3 door car!). I hate dealing with car dealers though.

I emptied the medicine cabinet about a fortnight ago, so that's a nice easy mission for me today. I'm going to have a think about this control journal thing though. I've just done it on Outlook reminders so far, but as I add more tasks to the routine it's getting a bit unworkable.

Hope you're all having a good morning

SuperMonkey · 17/10/2007 08:34

Still haven't got the hang of this bolding yet

TrinityRhino · 17/10/2007 08:49

morning
I actually shined my sink before I went to bed last night

systemsaddict · 17/10/2007 08:52

Failed completely last night - sat down with a drink and a book after putting ds to bed and woke up at 9ish feeling really rough, barely co-ordinated movements exhaustion, so just fell into bed. So no dishes/sink/clothes. Knock-on effect: ds and I are still in our nightclothes; ds had no clean bowls for breakfast so instead of healthy porridge had Cheerios spread over the kitchen table to pick at ...

I have just put him in front of In The Night Garden and done dishes / sink, we'll go and get washed and dressed now then a trip to the supermarket is in order - I normally get Asda delivered but haven't got round to doing the order this week, and so we're out of food too, my healthy pregnant lady breakfast consisted of 2 Mr Kipling cakes. I am going to give myself gestational diabetes if I make a habit of that. Aaaaargh!!! It's like a domino effect - not doing those little, easy things means you get faced with big, hard things you can't avoid later on...

systemsaddict · 17/10/2007 08:53

Yay TrinityRhino!!! Good for you!

Bienchen · 17/10/2007 09:32

Trinity - that's great. Keep it shining!

SA - you still had breakfast even if it was not very healthy. It's tough enough with a baby but being pg as well must be a lot worse.

SM - hope you get a good deal!

DD woke me at 4am as she had wriggled out of her sleeping bag and was lying on her front. Tucked her in again and she slept until 7:20. I could not settle again until about 5am and got up at 6! On the plus side, I got quite a few things done.

We slipped up with the afternoon/evening routine yesterday, as DP got back v late and had no help with cooking/tidying/baby, etc but at least I got my job application sorted and will drop off today.

May have to look into how to improve this but afternoons and teatime are always a bit more fractious here...

Today's lot then:

flowerybeanbag · 17/10/2007 09:35

funnypeculiar · 17/10/2007 13:13

hello all
Well done trinity!
Good luck with the slimey dealers, Supermonkey
And yum to your breakfast, SA - once in a while ain't going to hurt! And you're right, it's amazing how much doing little things in advance makes the day go smoother - I've really noticed that too.

So... this am I have:

  • bought a 'proper' control journal folder (was using an old notebook but it wasn't working brilliantly) - think I might type up my am/pm routines once we get through the babysteps & print off loads of copies so I can have a sheet a day & cross things off (I LOVE crossing things off!!)
  • did a load of washing (will habg out next)
  • swished & wiped loo & basin
  • shone sink
  • 5 min room rescue in front room
  • 2 mins in medcine cabinet (need to do more)

Off to do 15 mins decluttering in ds' room (dd's needs it more but she's asleep in hers

SuperMonkey · 17/10/2007 15:55

I've got a swanky new control journal and I'm sooo proud of it it's untrue . I've even done my detailed cleaning lists for when I finally get round to finishing the decluttering.

It's a lovely day here so the Monkeys went for a long walk and fed the ducks rather than going to deal with slimy used car salesmen.

Well done with that sink Trinity, it honestly makes a difference to come down to a shiny sink in the morning.

Bienchen · 17/10/2007 18:57

Flowery - that's your two minute hotspot for tomorrow: make doc's appointment . You just have to because you can't FLY if you are not well!!

I'm so proud this is the first day I managed all morning and afternoon/evening jobs. Only because I roped in DS and DP with hoovering and dusting and because DD behaved herself.

Tomorrow will be me my last day of FLYing for a few days. DP, DD and I are going to Paris! Or the less glamorous version: we will visit his aunt who lives in Paris. She adores DD and will babysit for us too!! Speaks no English at all, so DP and I have to brush up our French.

Trinity - keep that sink shining!

unknownrebelbang · 17/10/2007 21:47

That's great Trinity!

Go and get checked out Flowery!

Wow Bienchen, you're going to be in Paris while the Rugby final is on???? lovely!

Exercise bike and get ready
Make the bed.

Laundry. No

Reminders, routine and journal, etc
Read and Delete emails

Mission - done! Asked dh to do the bathroom, ensuite and toilet this morning, and he did! I did the medicine cabinet too, so just the "other room bits to be done, later in the week.

Hot spot - done
Five min room rescue - to do - the bedroom again.
15 minutes - to do - bedroom cupboards again.
My personal 15 mins - Ugly Betty.

Shiny Sink - done.
Clothes ready for me - haven't a clue about the uniforms yet!

funnypeculiar · 17/10/2007 22:10

Oooh, bon vacances en Paris, Bienchen!

And FBB, go to the docs ... but I know what you mean I avoid them too !

So, I managed 15 mins decluttering in each of the dcs rooms today, and did the sock chuck! Ended up with a bag full of clothes which I dumped in the charity box this evening. Ds' room is tiny & pretty clutter free, so his room looks fab - dd's is also my 'study' and has never really been turned into a room, so it gave me lots of impetus to sort that room out - it's amazing how much you actually CAN get done in 15 mins - it looks soooo much better!

My 15 mins are stretching a bit long this week, as I've got a wedding on Sat - my first gay wedding! - so I'm trying to spread out my preparation by dying my hair/doing my nails/sorting out eyebrows etc - a bit everyday and I'll be a goddess by Sat ....
