Upholstery cleaner?

I've got a light brown fabric sofa, which is starting to look a bit dirty through normal use, not spills or stains.

Do people find it is worth buying an upholstery cleaner or having someone in regularly to do it properly? (Not even sure if you could right now!)

I've been looking at things like the spot cleaners from Vax and Bisell? Does anyone have these, or found any gems that are worth investing in?

I'm going to clean the arms on our sofa tomorrow. Like you, not spot cleaning, just everyday marks (grease and dirt, in our case). I've put the seat pad and back cushion through a machine wash and they.ve come out really clean and thankfully haven't shrunk. I've had good results using Dr Beckmann carpet cleaner in the past, which says it is suitable for upholstery too, so I'm going to try that on one arm and see. They are £8.09 for two on amazon at the moment.
