Red wine on carpet

We treated it with the Bissel cleaner straight away and the stain seemed to go. Now it has dried it has come back a bluey colour and it smells rank.

Any suggestions?

Wet the patch and absolutely cake it in salt, which will absorb at least some of the stain - hoover up when it's dry.

Yep, salt and lots of water. I then hoover the salt up and pat it (don't rub) with a cloth.

ok didnt try salt as i bottled it but have just tried stain slayer by acdoco and it looks much better
