Read Mission or Weekly sneak peek
Read Mon reminder
Add babystep for Day 20 and include laundry in your routines
Has anyone seen the Riley challenge (mission for kids) (see here). Are they any good for anyone?

My head is banging and all 3 of them are fighting
I can't find any clothes or anyone
I have nits, my head itches and hurts, my hair os filthy

they will not stop fighting
ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH
kick me up the arse please

funnypeculiar · 15/10/2007 09:53

Oh God - I was coming on to have a whine about dd getting up at 5am this morning AGAIN .. but think I've been well & truely outdone by FBB & Trinity
Guys - think you have earned the right to do the bare minimum & have extra tea & sit down time!

I'm going to be working today.this eve, but have managed to do 3 x 5 min rescues, swish & swipe, shine sink, and give toilet a bit of a once-over

See you all later!

funnypeculiar · 15/10/2007 09:57

PS Trinity - can you get them to be calm enough for you to go & wash your hair? MAkes a HUGE difference to how I feel if my hair isn't too manky...

TrinityRhino · 15/10/2007 10:10

ok, bribed dd2 with rusks to sit nicely in bath seat on floor of bathroom whilst dd1(also bribed with rusk ) watched over gecko who was in her playpen with her most fave thing.....my old mobile phone

I launched myself up the stairs with the only clean towel in the house ready to shower in record speed so at least I wasn't offensive to the rest of the human race
lean over shower tray to turn on shower and
SODDING GREAT LOOFAH]staring back at me!

took a good five minutes to drown and dispose of it which cuts down shower time as neither gecko or dd2 will be calm and happy for long when I'm trying to do something
BUT I am clean, my hair is clean and I have found underwear (yes I am actually posting whilst in only bra and knickers )

Its a start, not a huge start but a start

Thanks guys for not chucking me out of here for being hopeless.

flowerybeanbag · 15/10/2007 10:12

Yay! Congrats Trinity for being hugely brave tackling a big [loofah] and managing to have a shower - that's the one thing I always try and make sure i do after a bad night - makes so much difference.

And this is babysteps, no one gets chucked out for being rubbish

TrinityRhino · 15/10/2007 10:19

thankyou
need to find some clothes now and find dd2, she is suspiciously very quiest upstairs

see you later

purpleturtle · 15/10/2007 11:00

Have shopped and put away.
Have made a start on lunch for ds2 and me, so it'll be quicker to do when we get in later.
Am struggling with dd's getting to sleep problems, and feel fairly battle-weary today.
More trundling than flying today, but that doesn't seem too dissimilar from the MOndays some of you are also having.
Am going to wander to college and see if I can have a coffee with dh.
Might do a bit more "flying" during ds2's nap time this afternoon, although also have Greek homework to do, which is much more interesting tbh!

IamDaisy · 15/10/2007 11:12

Morning all...

today I am back with the programme, but need to do some work on my control journal. I'm off on holiday on Thursday for 9 days thogh and am worried about copping out. I may be able to get to an internet cafe, but I'm not sure.

anyway, I'll be back after I've sorted out the control journal and written down a proper routine, but for the first time ever, babyboo has been dressed before we left for school and I was showered and dressed.

I even got a load of washing going and had time to polish DSs shoes.

kelly's mission i did yesterday (unknowingly) as mil came for lunch.

bilblio · 15/10/2007 11:21

Ooh the mission is perfect for me, it was only this morning that I noticed quiet how grubby the base of the toilet is... not that I touched it at the time, but now I definitely will. Cleaning DD room will be a doddle this week as she's not even in it yet.

The new babystep I can manage too as I always sort out a load of washing while I'm cleaning my teeth in the morning.

Had a slow start this morning, DD was too grizzly to be left while I had a shower, so I didn't manage the showered and dressed bit first thing but we're getting there now.

Morning
Get clean, dressed and make up on Done
Make bed Done
Empty dishwasher
Get my own breakfast - only managed a coffee, it'll be brunch instead.
Clear away breakfast stuff
Put washing in machine
2 minute hotspot
5 minute room rescue (dining room)
15 minute decluttering (my desk)
Kelly's mission (cleaning toilets)

Off to my friends studio this afternoon so she can photograph DD. Hopefully DD will be more co-operative than she was last time we tried. She was only 6 weeks old but in her frustration at being on her front she made a really good attempt at crawling

SuperMonkey · 15/10/2007 13:24

I've just been really brave and I'm really proud of myself.

You know all those little bottles of shampoo etc you get in hotel rooms, well I always keep the pretty ones thinking 'they'll be useful for guests'. Well, of course, the airing cupboard is full of the damned things. So I've chucked them all out.

(I've kept the Bellagio ones though, no one and nothing is going to make me get rid of those).

DS smells like he's just done his fifth dump of the day .

Sorry to those who had bad nights.

flowerybeanbag · 15/10/2007 13:33

rofl at Monkey's DS!

And well done about the little bottles! Our spare room ensuite is overflowing with them. They look so pretty!

CindersNeedsHelp · 15/10/2007 14:34

Get dressed done
Make bed done
Put laundry on done (it was nappies, so need to do another load today, if poss)
Breakfast and clear away done
Check calendar, control journal, today's reminders and inspirational quotes done
Bathroom swish and swipe done
5 minute room rescue done
15 minutes decluttering done
Errands ? been to PO, returned broken toys to shops and got credit of gift cards (good for xmas) and been grocery shoping

TrinityRhino You said ?Its a start, not a huge start but a start? very true, and keep thinking it. Funnypeculiar gave her fave babysteps so far. Mine have been:

  1. 15 mins decluttering a day
  2. Control journal ? have a list
  3. Inspirational phrases / turning bad thoughts into good ones He who has begun is half done Horace A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step Lao Tzu To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first Shakespeare

And SuperMonkey well done for binning those pointless bottles of shampoo (I?ll go and do mine now then)

haven't read mission yet but toilet got a good clean after all the puking
still have to start proper control journel.

CindersNeedsHelp · 15/10/2007 14:46

I read the sneak peek on missions, and will do them in a bit of a different order as bins go out on Tuesday night, so will empty DS bin on Tuesday.

So today I found two toys that were broken and took them back as they were still under warranty. I will also throw out a book he has torn to bits!!

Oh, and I am sending lots of "sleep well" vibes for LOs whose mummies desperately need their sleep tonight!

Bienchen · 15/10/2007 15:27

Good afternoon!!

Can't believe so many of you had bad nights!! Hope things will improve soon Flowery, Trinity, Funny & Rolo.

We had our first few good nights for a long time with DD sleeping until 7ish and going to sleep with relative ease. DP and I went out for first time on Sat night. Theatre and bloody lovely it was, too.

FLYing? We are sort of on track today. Most morning jobs done apart from 15 min decluttering. I already do a load a day, so not a big shock to the system.

Love the idea of Riley's mission but DS is 12 so is becoming a fully paid up member of flyladies together with DP!

TrinityRhino · 15/10/2007 15:39

well I have clothes on now and we went to visit my friend and had some lunch on the way in the car
so we are clothed and fed
now I must go and move my washing on

it's a start

going to find the pink binder I bought about 2 years ago when I wanted to fly and sort out a bedtime routine
that will really help me

SuperMonkey · 15/10/2007 15:40

I'm so jealous of your useful family Bienchen! I haven't got a single useful member - they're all utterly incapable of tidying up after themselves, let alone proactively FLYing! I jest not, every morning I have to ask DSD (11yo) to wipe up the milk she's spilt getting her breakfast. Last night I made DP ask her why her room was in such a state and she said it was because her bin was full so she has just been leaving rubbish lying on the floor . DP would be the first to admit that he's no better.

Shannaratiger · 15/10/2007 16:27

Hello everyone
DP has a week off so v. difficult to get near the computer.
Me and dd cleaned the bathroom this morning, inc. behind the loo. Need to do the floor but i think it's another day's mission.
Am going to my M&D's tomorrow pm, will be back thurs am. DD's birthday saturday & friend's wedding!
Hopefully will get bathroom & children's room sorted though.
Better go think about tea, and put clothes away.

funnypeculiar · 15/10/2007 17:05

I'm not sure whether to be ashamed or proud of this .... I work from home & had a colleague here today - whilst she was on a call, I did kelly's mission. Bet she wondered why I suddenly smelt of toilet cleaner

flowerybeanbag · 15/10/2007 17:12

rofl at FP! Now that's dedication!
