Will be on laminate flooring and needs to be superabsorbent to deal with teenage boys who spend seconds "wiping" their feet and trail puddles behind them

@Primotomb There are various people who do similar but this is a version of the Lakeland one I have by my back door ( on tiles - does not mark them - don't know about the rubber on laminate ) Rubber underneath so does not slip - if you have a look they do do various sizes and colours. Also I can testify they will go through the washing machine.I would buy the biggest and best colour of one of these you can.

They are unobtrusive and reasonably smart. Other than that fashion a small corral outside your door where teenage boys must sit until dry from the ankles downwards - however long it takes. Grin

Ah someone may have a better idea , perhaps something more aesthetic but these do the job

Oh just noticed they do a hall runner as well - now that might fox the teenage boys with their hasty wiping Grin

We have a marvel mat runner from dunelm. Gave up on the idea of getting the kids to actually wipe their feet so went for something longer they needed to walk across!

Machine washable and so far has coem out looking great again and unlike our previous mat actually seems to stay put rather than make it's way down the hall.

Another vote for the Lakeland ones. Go through the washing machine nicely. I have a doormat then a runner! They do trap a lot of dirt.

We have turtle mats at the front and back door, though someone put one of them through the washing machine at too high a temperature and the backing deteriorated.
