Discoloured stainless steel

The top of my Brabantia stainless steel bread bin has become discoloured. It is speckled with small rust coloured marks. As this has only happened recently and the bread bin is several years old, I am guessing it is connected to us spraying and wiping all our shopping since the start of Covid. That's just a guess.

Is there anything I can do to restore it?

If it is rust type speckles I would guess that is from e.g. spray bleach , If the marks are on the surface only then you may be able to restore it with Autosol ( comes in a tube approx £4.95 - can get from Amazon - I have used it for cleaning nickel etc & pretty good - well the best metal cleaner I have found - does cars ( not in my case - don't have a posh enough car ) , furniture etc ) if the marks look more like they have eaten into the surface then I suspect , unfortunately , they are there for good , in which case , a matter of whether they are unsightly enough for you to replace the bread bin

But others may have better advice

Good luck @BoggiesBonnieBelle
