Beds - wooden frame that doesn't cost a fortune

We need a new bed. Bought cheap last time and the thin slats beneath the mattress broke in no time.

Now seeking one with decent solid slats that will last more than 18 months but can't afford to pay a fortune.

Any ideas for stockists of such creatures?

We have a 9 year old oak furniture land bed. It’s been moved between four different countries and still as good as new. Not sure if they’re still in business but would definitely recommend.

IKEA have solid wood beds, me and husband have an expensive one but the kids have cheaper solid wood ones and one of them we've had 10 years with no issues.

We have one from dreams and one from John Lewis, £99 and £125 respectively.

If it's just the frame, look on eBay or in charity shops?
