Grey whites :(

Is there a tried and tested product (not bleach) to restore whites?
I have tried the oxy white and that other sachet one (name escapes me) But no use.
Any tips?

The best product I've ever tried is the Ecover laundry bleach.

I know you said not bleach, but it's not chlorine bleach and doesn't smell of bleach, so I thought I'd mention it anyway, just in case.

Drying in bright sunlight really helps.

Drying in bright sunlight really helps.
I try to get the washing outside whenever possible, unfortunately there’s been a distinct lack of bright sunlight recently :)

Use 1/3 more powder than normal, an extra rinse cycle, astonish laundry bleach & an a scoop of washing soda/tablespoon.

Run your machine on an empty hot wash too in case it’s not washing correctly

I find that synthetic materials tend to go grey over time regardless of what you use. I stick to cotton whenever I can.

Glo White sachet in the wash with 1/3 more bio powder, ecocover laundry bleach, which has no chlorine, line dry in sunlight and then a hot tumble dry in short bursts (stop the tumble dryer every 20 mins).

I've bought some Vanish for this very purpose. It had great reviews online IIRC, but I haven't tried it myself yet!

It’s white cotton t shirts, shirts and towels. I tend to avoid manmade fibres wherever possible.

Thanks for the extra tips everyone. I have orders some of the Astonish laundry bleach.
