Cleaning out condenser dryer

I bought a second hand condenser dryer prob 18 months ago
It stopped working and smelt of burning so had an engineer round
Although i empty water and the lint i never knew you had to take the whole condenser unit out and clean as well
I have just occasionally pulled it out and picked of fluff or gave outside a wipe
I had no manual and hadn't had a condenser before only vented
Im sure most people know to take out and clean but for any like me who may of bought second hand please remember to do this part as well

You can get plug covers that stop hair going down the plug hole so that would work.

I shower mine out with the shower in the bath mixer tap (but not as often as I should!)

We pull all the filters out and wash them through with cold water. I also give the spaces where I have pulled the filters a wipe with a damp cloth

I don't think I have to take the condenser unit out? I just clear the lint and filters

OP you’re so right. It’s a huge fire hazard if the condenser unit isn't cleaned and also it reduces the efficiency of the machine. Fluff and lint build up on there.

The manual should show how to remove the condenser unit and you can find it online if you don’t have a paper copy. But I agree that if you’ve never had a condenser dryer before you’d not know.

I take mine outside and blast it with the hose but I’m guilty of not doing it often enough.
