Oh gorgeous! Not what I'd imagined at all LOLOL!! If we do ever get one it will probably be a spaniel - dp grew up with a Cavalier King Charles which he adored - and they're a bit more manageable in size and temperament than the flatcoat retrievers we had - v. crazy big bouncy dogs, completely unrealistic for our lifestyle, but lovely!

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 16:58

he certainly is gorgeous, and he knows it.

He is doing his best 'sit' right now and looking at me with his puppy dog 'please can I have a bit of your choccy biscuit' eyes.

He spends most of the day following me about or sleeping on my foot as soon as I sit down.

Altogether now...

Ahhhhhhhhh

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 16:59

don't worry, he won't actually get any of my choccy biscuit, doesn't stop him trying everytime though

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 18:51

RANT ALERT

Sorry, need to vent to my FLYbaby friends.

As some of you know, I spend a lot of time on here giving free high quality professional advice on the Employment topic to MNers with problems at work.

I need to vent because some person has just said that I am basing my advice on 'guesswork'.

That's made me so cross - I give a lot of my time for free doing this making sure people get their rights and what they're entitled to and helping them manage difficult work situations in the best way possible so I am not amused to be accused of guessing just because my advice wasn't what the OP wanted to hear.

RANT OVER

Carry on as you were!

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 18:58

.

Quite right to rant.

I nearly started a MN related rant to my FLYbaby friends earlier, I think that's what we're here for!

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 18:59

What are peoples views on doing Babysteps 18 and 19 over the weekend? I've got time on my hands as DP and DSD are busy all weekend with the MIL.

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 19:03

thanks for support Monkey. My feathers are well and truly ruffled I can tell you!

I'm game for 18 and 19 over the weekend - they both appear to be reading stuff - easy peasy!

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 19:11

Flowery - I've just read your other thread. Good response!

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 19:14

Couldn't resist I'm afraid. And I'm normally so professional as well

Bienchen · 12/10/2007 19:31

Oh Flowery that is so annoying but you are right. The OP probably did not get the answer expected. But I am sure there are plenty of grateful people who you have advised before and surely that will outweigh the negative experience?

I am reasonably busy tomorrow with DP working and DS at school. I have to do the school run as there's no bus on a Saturday so that cuts out a big chunk of my day. Still, I am happy to carry on as suggested if it is just a little light reading...

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 19:33

you are right BC everyone is normally lovely, so definitely outweighs negative experience, for some reason it just wound me right up!

Calming down now though

unknownrebelbang · 12/10/2007 20:39

Evening all.

Not seen the other thread fbb, but going on past readings, your advice is always professional, friendly and polite. Sorry someone's been rude to you.

Shame about the job not coming thorugh Bienchen.

systemsaddict · 12/10/2007 20:44

Can we add a new babystep please - set timer before sitting down to quickly check threads on MN? Intrigued by Flowerybeanbag's discussion I checked out her recent postings ... which took me off to the lisalisa knickers thread ROFLMAO ... then I ended up on a scary / reassuring '2 under 2' thread ... then ... what happened to the last hour and a half???! This site should have a health warning!!

OK to get back on topic, didn't complete morning routine this morning as it was a work day, so I am NOW going to do:
2 min hotspot = empty and reload dishwasher which will clear kitchen counter by kettle
5 min room rescue = pick up toys in living room
15 min = hang up nappies (won't take 15 mins but feels like a big job)

and NO MORE mumsnet till these things are DONE

unknownrebelbang · 12/10/2007 20:47

Exercise bike (twice!!) and get ready
Reminders, routine and journal, etc
Read and Delete emails
Make the bed - Yes!!!

Mission - done (ssshhh, I conned DH into doing it last night, lol)
Hot spot - hall basket - done.
Five min room rescue and 15 minutes declutter - living room. (considerably longer unfortunately). I've avoided this room so far, getting DH to tidy round for me, but I'm half-expecting my aunt to call this weekend, lol, so have had to make an effort, grrrr. Had to avoid just clearing clutter from one place to another, which was a pita, and it's not finished, but it's better than it was,

My personal 15 mins - Ugly Betty tonight.

Shiny Sink - not quite tonight.
Clothes ready for me and karate gis/footie kit for the boys - to do.

Bedtime: well it's Friday, so no guarantees, but made it for 11.05 last night, so really pleased with myself.

systemsaddict · 12/10/2007 21:39

Yay! Did each thing I'd planned to AND swiped over the kitchen floor - in half-hearted manner, but it is much improved. Bedtime for me ... once I've picked my clothes out of course. Night all

purpleturtle · 12/10/2007 21:59

Have pretty much failed today

Ds2 spent the morning putting things on the floor. He threw his breakfast on the floor; cleared a bookshelf; he pulled washing off the airer; he emptied the litle tupperwares all over the floor while I was trying to cook lunch; he dropped couscous on the floor. Aaargh! I kind of lost the plot at that point.

And then a letter arrived from our last estate agents with a long list of things they reckon we're liable for before they'll give us any deposit back. Most of them are things that were pre-existing in the house anyway, so I spent a while composing a full rebuttal of their list. One of their 'Other Issues' was that the cellar was damp. I wrote something about that not being due to our tenancy. "It rained very heavily this summer. Cellars get damp when it rains." (Quite proud of that, can you tell?!)

Obviously, nothing to do with being a Flybaby, except as my excuse for not flying today.

CindersNeedsHelp · 12/10/2007 22:04

Just popping in.

Sorry to hear someone being rude to you Flowery and estate agents messing you about Purpleturtle.

Done
Get dressed, make bed. Clear away breakfast things
Mad rush to toddler group as DS pooped just befor we left!!
Check calendar, control journal, today's reminders and inspirational quotes
Bathroom swish and swipe
2 minute hot spot
5 minute room rescue
15 minutes decluttering
Dinner things washed up, sink shiny.

No laundry done today. Oh well.
Not fully done Kelly?s Mission as I haven?t mopped, but I do sweep every day anyway!
Not yet picked out tomorrow?s clothes

Will go to bed soon.

If everyone?s game for baby stepping this weekend, then I am too!

Weekend here
