how to unblock my kitchen sink?

It's not completely blocked but the water is running out/draining so-o-o slowly. Have tried a couple of gels (eg Mr Muscle) without much success and would prefer a more "natural" option - have poured soda crystals down the plughole, left overnight then flushed with boiling water...but again, no improvement. Any tips would be appreciated.

Put bowl under the pipes and unscrew the u bend or buy a long plumbing wire which can go through the bends , run hot water and use a plunger to shift any debris.

Block overflow and use plunger.

Or put biological washing powder down and then pour boiling water over.

My plumber recommended using fairy (or equivalent) liquid. You need to put maybe half a bottle down and flush through with boiling water.

I've used a combination of these things over a few days to relieve my sink blockage. For plunging I worked out it quite hard for about 30 seconds at a time and sealed the overflow with wadded kitchen roll held by other hand.

Caustic soda

Empty it. You should be doing that every now and then.

Get under the sink and unscrew the unbend
