Dehumidifier Recommendations/Experiences Please

Since the weather has taken a turn for the worst, my rental house feels "humid" when the heating is on. I guess the tell-tale sign when I moved in in the summer were these moisture capture things in each room. The house doesn't smell damp nor is there any mould (yet!)

Anyway, thinking a dehumidifier is going to have to be purchased, especially as I'll soon be drying laundry inside (no drier).

Do you have one?

Was it expensive to buy/run?

Does it work?

Thanks!

This is ours. I run it more in the winter. It's not super cheap but a lot cheaper than a tumble dryer to run.
For laundry I put it in the bathroom with the airer and set it for 4h. My washing never smells and is ready to put away in less than a day usually

A couple of tips:

Open a window in each room for at least half an hour running every day, even when it's cold outside

If you do use a dehumidifier, use a fan with it. The fan will speed up the action of the dehumidifier making it cheaper to run

If you want a good dehumidifier get one that specifies how many litres per day it will extract - you want at least 20 litres per 24 hour period. 28 would be great.

You want a dehumidifier that comes with a collection bucket and that stops automatically when this is full.

HTH.

Thank you for your help, after some research I'm picking up the same model as yours tomorrow.

Just a quick (poss silly) question - do you run the laundry mode as well as the central heating?

Quite excited to be doing laundry tomorrow!! Smile
