Economy 7 and washing machines?

Hi, im on an economy 7 meter and trying to make the best of it. I do not want to put a plug in timer on my washing machine during the night due to the hazards. So im getting up 1 hour before my 7 hour cheaper electricity ends to put a wash on so i wanted to know for my manual washing machine is it more energy efficient to run it on a eco 20' or rapid 15 wash? As i think only these two settings will save abit of money? Thanks

Will the 15 minute wash be able to take a full load as those washes are often for only a few items at a time? Also they tend to use more energy to do the wash in a faster time

Probably not then and i guess it not really as clean as id like so maybe the eco setting but heard it can talk 2+hours

Its Eco because it uses less energy but takes longer. Is there a wash thats mid way between those 2?

Does your machine itself not have a delay function?

Im not sure i have.. rapid 15,daily 60,shirts, mix, sport, hand wash delicate, spin, rinse, wool, easy care, eco 20,cotton 40,cotton 60 and cotton 90 so im thinking maybe the eco.. Usually do a daily 60.

Can you buy or borrow (our local library used to lend them out) an electricity monitor? Years ago, I tested everything including all the wash programmes I used. The lower temp programme was cheaper than the eco one, although it took longer and used more water.

I do a hot whites wash every week even though I know it costs a lot more than my usual loads. We have very hard water and I think a regular hot wash helps to keep the machine clean. I also use soda crystals in every wash for the same reason. A bonus with soda crystals is that clothes come out cleaner at lower temperatures too.
