Piglet in Bed

Has anyone bought bed linen from them? I'm coveting the raspberry bed linen. I need superking so don't want to spend the best part of £400 and be disappointed... or does anyone recommend any other linen bedding in colours other than white/grey/pastels?

You could try looking online to see if any other companies do them.
I had a quick search and found this www.secretlinenstore.com/vintage-rose-100-linen-duvet-cover

Might it be a more summer type bedding that you might get in a sale or special offer?

I like my bed to be the focal point of the bedroom, so it is nice to have a duvet cover I like.

Shmithecat2 · 01/10/2020 11:11

@MikeUniformMike

Thanks for the link! I saw that on my searches, its lovely and I know I sound like a right twat now but it's not quite the pink shade I want (vintage rose on the left, raspberry on the right). I have navy curtains and the raspberry would look so beautiful next to them. I think I'll preorder the Piglet stuff and hope it's as glorious as it looks!

Yes, with having such a large bed, I really want it to look nice. Smile

I totally understand. It has to be just right doesn't it, nearly right won't do.
I knew it wasn't what you wanted but there were other companies selling linen covers.

Because I share my bed, I have given up on perfect bedlinen, as the git slobbers on it and leaves hairs on it. He's fast asleep still, probably dreaming of catnip.

FusionChefGeoff · 01/10/2020 11:48

I was really hoping this thread was going to be about an actual piglet sleeping in your bed Grin

Shmithecat2 · 01/10/2020 11:50

@FusionChefGeoff DH has agreed to me having some pot bellied pigs as soon as we find a suitable house with land. Watch this space 😂😂😂

In my case it's a cat.

Piglets are lovely but not as lovely as DCat

Sunnydaysstillhere · 01/10/2020 11:52

Urgh I only came on to see piggy pics!!
How utterly disappointing....

UnaOfStormhold · 01/10/2020 11:54

If you buy those sheets and get a pig, don't let the pig into the bedroom....

IWantToBeMelissaWhenIGrowUp · 01/10/2020 11:55

I too find this thread extremely disappointing Grin

Hope you get what you want OP. (I'm curious - would you have to iron it? Or is it meant to look sort of natural rumpled linen look?)

giantangryrooster · 01/10/2020 11:57

Ahh, no piggy?

IWantToBeMelissaWhenIGrowUp · 01/10/2020 11:58

I'm just waiting for (when everyone has expressed their piglet disappointment) for the first person to come on and say "you'd spend how much on bed linen? That's obscene" and encourage you to give the money to a food bank or charity Wink

PS I myself couldn't afford to spend 1/10th of that at the moment but I love to like vicariously and would totally spend that on bed linen if I could Grin no judgement here Smile

pinkgin85 · 01/10/2020 11:59

Very disappointed there's no cute piglets here

giantangryrooster · 01/10/2020 12:01

Well, we'll have do post pics then. Much better choise this one than bedlinen OP Smile.

No, no ironing! Part of the attraction tbh.

These are my friend's pigs, all quite grown, but still cute!

OP, it is a lot of money but you spend a third of your life in bed.
Some people spend £££ on their hair or clothes or on the latest gadget.
Linen improves with age, up to a point, but hair colour or haircuts don't.

A friend told me years ago that you don't regret your extravagances - it's the little spends that you don't think about that eats up the money.

Are the pigs pets or are they going to be eaten?

Shmithecat2 · 01/10/2020 15:41

@MikeUniformMike

As pets!

As for the linen - well, yes, exactly! We've not recently moved, and went 2nd hand on loads of things like washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, all sorts. My car is 2nd hand, 14 years old. My towels are from Primark really nice actually, I was surprised!. I'm buying this linen because I love it. It brings me joy Grin

MikeUniformMike · 01/10/2020 15:52

I get most things 2nd hand.

I'm on 1st name terms with the staff at my local charity shops.
Went in one yesterday, looking for a jumper for mother.Pair of chelsea boots on a high shelf parcel taped together Pulled them down, and they were gorgeous - hardly any sign of wear, my size, nice colour, branded but not one I knew. Manager ripped the tape off, insisted I bought them,as if I'd leave them as they were just £1.
Got home and it's a known brand, sold in Office for about £125.

My favourite duvet cover is from that shop too, it's larger than a double and an american brand, two matching pillowcases and I think it was £4.50.

God my boots are nice, I had no need for them. What an extravagance.

mobear · 21/11/2020 22:33

Did you get the bed linen OP? Do you like it?
