I used too much bleach & zoflora - help!

The overspill holes in my sink were producing an overbearing foul smell, and as I work from my kitchen I really needed to solve it.

So I used bleach first (a lot, like way too much) and then zoflora and soda crystals after that, I used triple the amount of zoflora necessary and cleaned the whole sink area with it and the walls surrounding the sink (don’t ask why - stupid I know)

I’ve got rid of the overspill hole stench but it’s been replaced by an overbearing smell on disinfectant!!

How can I solve this?

Move house.

Zoflora is rank.

Keep every window and door open to let the air circulate. Can you try bowls of white vinegar?

OwlBasket · 23/09/2020 20:22

TBH it sounds like you’re lucky to still be aliveShock

I have scrubbed the sink and walls with soap and water but it’s still overbearing

Please don’t do that again. It’s really dangerous. I heard of a woman dying after using bleach then toilet cleaner. You just need to get as much air through as you possibly can.

Windows open. Bleach breaks down fairly efficiently.

And foul smell in sinks, baking sofa and vinegar. That way you'll live through it.

I abhor the obsession on here with bleach and Zoflora. It's rank.

I ordered zoflora off amazon and had it shipped to the US because of all the hype here. It smells like port-a-potties. So gross. I don’t get it.

Pour boiling water down the drains, should help clear it.

Asherj123 · 24/09/2020 11:48

It’s not so much the drains, it’s the fact I scrubbed the steel of the sink basin, the section next to that where pots and etc go to dry and parts of the wall around the sink.

I also did bleach one day and zoflora the next, just to confirm. It’s the zoflora that’s the issue, entirely overbearing smell!

I’ve been using boiling water and soap on the surfaces and airing the room out.

We stopped using Zoflora when we found a company on Insta called @thejspatch they do a room mist in spring awakening and put a post on for sinks & bins. Since then we just use 1 spray in the sink and pour boiling water in.
