stainless steel stained/discoloured

I'm tyring to get my mums house cleaned while she's on holiday. Though her oven front is very marked. It's brushed stainless steel and I recall her saying that she used a cleaning product on it that didn't agree with it.

Any ideas on how to clean it up? I've tried my usual of soapy water followed by and ecloth and that hasn't helped. So I tried some cif spray she had around which has helped it but the marks are still there and there are new 'clean' marks if anyone knows what I mean.

WOuld bleach be any good? I know I clean my sink with bleach and it's great...

When I used to work at McDonalds we used a sort of scouring powder like Ajax. You had to wash with Ajax type stuff, then rinse, then buff with clean tissue (I really think McD's is one of the cleanest places you can eat - it took me three hours a night to clean the outside of the cupboards!). Worked a treat. Now on my own kettle etc, I use babywipes / glass polish, or furniture polish, whatever comes to hand.
