Soft water and hand soap

We live in a very hard water area, but luckily have a water softener. Have tried lots of liquid hand soaps, but constantly left with a slimy residue despite rinsing multiple times. All the hand towels are getting ruined :(. Any recommendations for hand washes or what else to do?!

Get rid of the water softener? I had this when I went to stay in a soft water area - I felt like I just couldn’t rinse the shampoo off my head!

Our water is rock hard, so it's not a problem I have. We use bars of soap which are fine, but the manky towel problem has been solved by using small towels (about the size of two face cloths) and changing them more frequently. At least once and sometimes twice a day. Because they are small, I don't feel so guilty about washing them so often.

I'm in a similar situation and tend to use old fashioned bars of soap and have never noticed this problem, it might be worth a try?

Use much much much less

Rinse your hands

The towels will not be harmed, you can wash them using Washing Soda Crystals (no powder or fabsoft) and you will find they foam up as the soap residue washes out.
