Hi everyone! I'm in quite the pickle and could really use some help.
I have a very severe flour mite infestation all throughout my room and to make matters worse, I'm allergic to them so have had to move into the lounge until the situation is under control.
They started in a mealworm colony in a corner of my room and have since spread absolutely everywhere, and on everything. In cupboards, on any items, walls, ceilings, the lot of it. I'm honestly just at a loss of how to tackle it at this point, and I don't think just soapy hot water is going to cut it as there's many things like electronics that cannot be washed. I'm desperately hoping that chemicals will be a possible route I can take, but I can't seem to find any information on what'd work, and how to go about it. I have other bugs, rats and cats that live in there, and of course I sleep in my room as well so while I can move all of those out temporarily, they are definitely a factor in how I treat the mites.
So far I've heard of bay leaves and Diatomaceous Earth? but that's it, and I haven't seen anything on how to use the latter. Any advice would be an absolute godsend at this point, thank you!
