Cleaner Etiquette

We are looking to get a cleaner to come fortnightly and just wondering what is good cleaner etiquette? I have an 8 week old baby and Cavapoo and if the weather is bad we may not be able to get out the house (let's face it, if the weather is OK we may not make it out!). I wouldn't want to get in the way of the cleaner or watch over them, so is it acceptable to be in a room which doesn't get cleaned while they are there? I know it is my own house but don't want to make them less efficient or feel uncomfortable!

Yes, I do this now that I'm working from home (previously we'd both be out at work). I just sit in another room and then when she's done with one bit of the house I move so she can do that room - it seems to work fine. I'm sure she'd rather I was out but it works fine for us.

Our cleaner arrives and does upstairs first (DH and I work from downstairs). As soon as she's down and in the kitchen we take it as our cue to move upstairs so she can do all of downstairs.
