OP posts:
SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 08:35

Morning all. Hope you all had a good weekend. The boy is still sleeping through but he was an absolute arse yesterday - tantrums all day, I didn't think we were meant to get those for a while yet!

Anyway:

Morning all.

Now I'm going to show off because DS slept through again grin. So we're all full of beans and raring to go:

Empty dishwasher Done
Get my own breakfast Done
Clear away breakfast stuff Done
2 minute hotspot (hall and landing)
Hang out washing
5 minute room rescue (utility room)
15 minute decluttering (kitchen)
Kelly's mission (clean the bin )
What's for tea?

Afternoon/evening

SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 08:36

Oops, given myself and my cutting and pasting away

flowerybeanbag · 08/10/2007 08:51

Haven't done anything yet except put washing machine on and get dressed, but just need to share my well-restedness.

DS slept through til 6.20 on Friday night with no waking up at all. The last few nights before that he's needed settling back at some point and then usually been more or less awake by 5-5.30, but he slept til 6.20 without even waking up or anything.

He didn't do it Saturday night but we were away for the weekend so I'm putting that down to unfamiliar environment. Then he did it again last night, slept right through to 6.00 without stirring at all.

Lalalala!

Anyway, after boasting sharing that, I am off to do some jobs and will report back in a bit with routine etc etc

purpleturtle · 08/10/2007 09:39

Can't stay long - ds2 is not happy that I'm using the computer and he's not allowed to touch it!

Load of washing done
Dryer running done
Phone repair company because newly fixed machine making strange noise, again DONE
2 min hotspot (recycling) done
Stripped our bed done
breakfast stuff into dishwasher done
5 min rescue (our room) done

Still to do:
Plan some meals for this week
concoct shopping list
Decided whether to internet shop or not (If not, need to do full shop this morning)
15 mins in dd's room
Kelly's mission

Apparently could stay longer than I thought! Ds2 shouting at birds through the window.

SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 09:40

It's great isn't it Flowery!

I'm just going to go off on a little eulogy about how good all this is. I've now done all my morning chores and it's only half nine. I've got the rest of the morning to do as I please. And the best thing is the house looks really good and I just don't feel like I've been over-stretching myself. My parents came unexpectedly over the weekend and I didn't feel embarrassed about the state of the house when they arrived. In 15 minutes this morning I have gutted and reorganised the kitchen utensil cupboard. I can see things in there now, there's space for more stuff, I'm sooo chuffed with it . Thank you all for motivating me.

Eulogy over. Time for a cup of tea and Jeremy Kyle.

funnypeculiar · 08/10/2007 09:49

very impressed by all the sleeping babes - long may it last
Just off to playgroup, but have

  • got dressed (in SKIRT - putting out clothes is having a big impact -shined sink
  • checked control journal & reminders
  • done 2 min hotspot
  • cleaned out compost bin (yum)
  • tidied up breakie
  • put on dishwasher & washing machine
  • done 5 min room rescue (think this will ALWAYS be our dining/living room!)

See you all later!

flowerybeanbag · 08/10/2007 10:02

ok back again

Sink shiny
diswasher empty
washing machine on
control journal checked
reminders read
5 minute room rescue done in lounge

Bit hectic this morning because had bloke arriving to tile our bathroom and other bloke arriving to pick up my new car which has to go back to the garage already

Still need to do 15 minute declutter, after success in the cupboard under the sink last week I'm going to do the rest of the kitchen cupboards, and also need to do mission, which I am not looking forward to, I hate bins and always make DH deal with them... Oh, and 2 minute hotspot as well.

Hope everyone's ok, and I must agree with Monkey about being relaxed at the propect of someone coming round, the thought no longer instils a sense of foreboding and dread in me at the thought of having to tidy the whole house before anyone can set foot inside!

Bienchen · 08/10/2007 10:55

Morning
Get clean, dressed and make up on Done
Give DS breakfast Done
Put washing machine on
Empty dishwasher Done
Get my own breakfast Done
Colds are back with a vengence (sp?) in the bienchen household. Got up about a dozen times for DD... sink still shiny though and kept the routine going on Sunday

House looks presentable and I feel much better for it. Agreed with DP and DS that we all do 15 mins of declutter, so we got top of wardrobe done, one kitchen cupboard and hovered stairs and landing (not strictly speaking clutter but the dog hairs do my head in sometimes)

morning
Clear away breakfast stuff Done
empty washing mashine, hang up washing, empty dishwasher Done
2 minute hotspot (bedroom) Done
Read control journal and reminders
5 minute room rescue (bathroom)
15 minute decluttering (kitchen)

What's for tea? (Chilli con carne and rice)
HV with DD done Afternoon/evening
Cook tea
Load dishwasher
Jobsearch

Bedtime
Put dishwasher on

systemsaddict · 08/10/2007 12:02

My goodness you're all very impressive....! I am realising my before bed routine has to have almost nothing in it at the moment as first trimester exhaustion really hits in the evening, and ds keeps waking at night too with ear problems which doesn't help. But I am giving myself credit for shining sink and laying clothes out all weekend, which I REALLY didn't want to do last night but got the benefits of this morning.

Didn't manage much decluttering over weekend but did hotspots - one shift in attitude is that now when I see a mess I don't feel overwhelmed and think 'oh no - we have failed again', I think 'Oh good, that can be my next hotspot'! And it is making a difference, even with this very small amount of effort.

So I have decided to focus on sticking with current babysteps to establish habits, see the 15 mins and missions as optional for now, and represent the minimal end of the FLYing spectrum on the thread until I hopefully get to the blooming stage in 6 weeks or so.

SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 12:45

DS has just rolled over for the first time .

Sorry, just had to share that with someone.

flowerybeanbag · 08/10/2007 12:45

Yay baby monkey!

V exciting isn't it?!

SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 12:48

Very exciting.

He's been happy just lying on his back so far, showed no desire to move. There'll be no stopping him now, walking by the end of the week I reckon!

mylastrolo · 08/10/2007 13:01

ah brings me back rolling over lol at walking by end of week!!!

To do
15 mins of phonecalls
hang washing out
new load in
unpack bags
s&s bathroom
mission bin.

re shine sink after lunce dishes

get d/d out of school clothes and off for 3rd school run.

having lunch now.
try and put print off into a folder to make a control journel.

purpleturtle · 08/10/2007 13:02

Don't wish it on yourself too soon, Supermonkey!

Ds2 walked at 11 months and has been unstoppable ever since. this morning I have taken the bleachy old toothbrush reserved for bathroom tiles off him; he's emptied the tupperware cupboard and the clingfilm/foil drawer; he's tried to slide across the kitchen floor on a tray; he's stuck his face into a seive and tried to poke his tongue through the mesh !

On the other hand, he was quite helpful unloading the shopping bags.

Load of washing done
Dryer running done
Phone repair company because newly fixed machine making strange noise, again DONE
2 min hotspot (recycling) done
Stripped our bed done
breakfast stuff into dishwasher done
5 min rescue (our room) done
Plan some meals for this week done
concoct shopping list done
Supermarket shop done

Still to do:

15 mins in dd's room
Kelly's mission
ironing

funnypeculiar · 08/10/2007 14:12

ahhh, well done mini-monkey

And many congrats, systemaddict - din't realise you were pg. I think managing to do ANYTHING in the first 12 weeks is impressive - I'd get to the end of the day, get ds to sleep, and go st to sleep myself on the sofa

On which note, would anyone mind if we swopped ages of kids? I'm conscious that I'm picking them up as we go along.

I'll start - I have 2 dcs - ds is 3.5, & dd is 19 mths (going on 16 yrs...)

Right, have done my 15 mins (cleared out the 'drinks & bibs cupboard - surely everyone puts those two together - got rid of lots of bibs ... but no booze
And have done Kelly's bin mission

SuperMonkey · 08/10/2007 14:20

Flowerybeanbag and I have discovered that our DSs were born on the same day - 5 months old this weekend.

mylastrolo · 08/10/2007 14:22

ok funnypeculiar i think i am going to be here as my d/d's are 6 and 4 which puts me to shame that i don't get half as much done as all you pregnant ladies and ones with very young children.

head in shame] and holding nose to do mission of bin yuk!!!

flowerybeanbag · 08/10/2007 14:30

DS will be 5mo on Saturday.

It's going badly chez flowery today, haven't managed my 15 minutes declutter, my hotspot or cleaning the bin yet. I may pass on cleaning the bin as I am short of time and apparently DH did it a couple of weeks ago.

systemsaddict · 08/10/2007 15:12

Ds 13 1/2 months old (must be about same as your ds2 purpleturtle?) - cruising but not walking yet, he's about to walk though and I feel life will suddenly get more complicated. Df (dear foetus ) 6 1/2 weeks, due end May / early June if all goes well - all please send good vibes as I'm still at the v. anxious stage and have told v. few people in RL as yet, just hoping desperately to get through to 12 weeks with all well - but this is another reason why I need to get organized, they'll only be 22 months apart and I suspect if all goes well we are in for an interesting couple of years!

LOL @ bibs'n'booze cupboard! Ours is booze'n'cereal packets - glad I'm not the only one to make 'creative' use of space!

YAY for baby monkey rolling over, such a big step!!

purpleturtle · 08/10/2007 15:23

OK have done the bin and the ironing.

Dd is 6, Ds1 is 4 and Ds2 is 13 mths (born 18/08/06 systemsaddict).

Need to go and wake ds2, so I can collect ds1 from school, then go back 45 mins later for dd who has art club.

flowerybeanbag · 08/10/2007 15:24

SA huge congrats and loads of good vibes for mini addict

systemsaddict · 08/10/2007 15:41

Thanks flowery! Mine's 27/8/06 purpleturtle so just over a week younger.

TheNappyNipper · 08/10/2007 15:48

Good afternoon, it's daisyandbabybootoo here. This is my nuperhero guise (we're being silly on our PN thread)

Not done a lot over the weekend as babyboo has been an absolute nightmare. She has been waking up at 3ish am and not going back to sleep. yesterday it was 2:30 and then she only napped for a couple of hours in the day. Dh and I are knackered and spent all of yesterday in a sleep deprived fug.

I'm managin to keep up to date with everything though...and Kelly's mission for today I did anyway when I emptied the bins on Friday....how clever of me was that.

My control journal needs a bit of work, as its written on some scraps of paper pending getting new pages for my filofax.

well done baby monkey on rolling over. babyboo shows no signs of doing that just yet, although she blew her first raspberry yesterday and has not stopped since. Its very cute.

I promise I'll get back on track and catch up fully tomorrow!
