Do you guys wash underware with normal wash like t shirt and hoodies at a temp of 30c?

I put them in a normal wash at 40⁰C

Dettol laundry in every wash here. Works as low as 30 but I always wash clothes at 40, including boxer shorts or knickers in with clothes.

Do you still need detergent to go the detol? I use fairy non bio for detergent.

Non bio will not be very effective at 30 degrees. 30 degrees needs a biological detergent and while a 30 degree wash with bio detergent can make things look clean it isn’t great at killing bacteria IMO so they will often smell when you wear them. I only use non bio for things that can be washed at 60 degrees or higher when the high temperature of the water will kill bacteria.

If you are determined to stick to a 30 degree wash you could try adding dettol or Zoflora or other disinfectant to the fabric conditioner compartment (instead of FC not as well as). This will kill bacteria during the final rinse and give a fresher result but will also add the smell of the product to your final wash. That’s fine if you like smell of whatever you add. I use linen fresh Zoflora as it makes the clothes smell line dried.

I use zoflora in with fabric softener. Bio powder has enzymes that break down food stains. Both types work at lower and higher temperatures
