Terrified of spiders

Hi everybody. Just wondering if anyone has some advice in regards to an extreme fear of spiders...
It's that time of the year I dread, I know many people don't like them but I feel it completely takes over me every day. Even when they're not in season, out of habbit for as long as I can remember I completely ' check' every room I go into incase there is one. If I see one I go into full blown panic mode And literally cannot look at it, shake and actually turn white as a sheet! let alone get rid. I obsessively wipe down my house twice a day with peppermint and constantly worry that one will enter my home. I don't know why I'm posting really, I just hope somebody has some tips to be able to tolerate them ( I know I'll never get close) but the fear is indescribable and I hate it :(

I hate hate hate spiders and they seem to get bigger every bloody year! Yuck!!

This thing has been a lifesaver for me:

I got mine on Aldi Specialbuy a year or two ago and I can't recommend it enough. Grab 'em from a distance and fling 'em out the door!

Also, cats. Cats are amazing at hunting, so thankfully they now catch all least half of the spiders.

Can't stand the eight-legged scuttling things!! 🤮🤮🤮

Thankyou for your reply! I have seen those before but to be honest I would be able to use it even if it's 10 foot long, honestly I can't look 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
I may need a cat?! X

My OH is the spider catcher in this family... I've no idea what I would do without him. Sorry, I know it's not very helpful...

I havent been in my bedroom for 10mths because there was a massive spider. In those 10mths it's become a "junk room". I need to sort it our over the next few weeks and I'm terrified. I feel your pain OP. Sad

You can get spider paper to put on the floor. It's like fly paper but for catching spiders. Put it behind and under furniture, in corners etc where they hang out. They will die, so it's not ideal for if you want to set them outside

Best thing I ever did was the friendly spider course held at London zoo.
It was pricey (for me) but it 100% worked. I have gone from being terrified my whole life to not even being the slightest bit bothered it was life changing
I just thought I would suggest it as I used to be absolutely terrified this time of year too

In fact your thread has just reminded me its spider season so I've bought a 30pack of spider traps of Amazon. £8.99 with £4.20 postage. The buggers wont be living in my bedroom this year 🤣🤣
