We are about to get fitted wardrobes in 3 bedrooms.
Would you fit them over the carpet or not?
The carpets aren't great but we can't afford to replace them all at the moment.
If we pulled them back would a carpet fitter come and just re fit them or not ?

We were in same situation at the beginning of the year and had ours fitted over our carpet.

We were in same situation and the wardrobe fitters themselves pulled the carpets back and refitted them for us. It does make it easier for when you do eventually want to change carpets.

if you leave the carpets can you get new carpets fitted eventually or is it a nightmare ?

Think it might be a bit difficult pulling the old carpets out from underneath the wardrobes.

Yes definately dont fit over carpet! We did. Then wanted to get rid of all carpets due to dd's dustmite allergy. It was a nightmare getting it out and then refitting everything again. We had lots fitted against our walls,it was then extremly difficult to get them to line up afterwards with the original drilled holes as they had dropped slightly due to carpet thickness. Had to prop wardrobes up on hardboard in the end for everything to aline again with top boxes ect. One thing good about them being on some hardboard is you can cut the hardboard shorter making a little gap to tuck the carpet under at the front and ends of the wardrobes. Had viynl layed after around them all and it was fine.
