Light cordless good for carpets?

My daughter and I struggle with our heavy upright hoover so I'm looking for a light cordless for the carpets upstairs. The Dyson 11 is meant to be good but I think holding down the power switch with annoy me.

Any recommendations?

I've got the Dyson V7, no idea how it compares to others. But I'm really happy with it - hadn't realised you have to hold the button down until you mentioned it! It's right where you're holding it anyway, you don't really notice you're holding a button down. Hope that helps!

Shark cordless Duoclean Liftaway - I love it. Great for hard floors and carpets, it almost pulls you along!
Very light, vacuum pod lifts away to become portable for stair cleaning.

I’ve just got a shark cordless lift away too. I LOVE it.

I have a bit of a vacuum fixation. I keep buying them (Miele, Sebo, Eufy, Robovac, GTech, Vax et al) but this is the first one I’m still regularly using a month after purchase.

It’s a little heavy for a cordless (although lighter than a corded model) and a bit unstable if you want to use it full length with the nozzle attached but it’s very powerful, great on stairs, easy to empty and the anti hair wrap function is very effective - important in a house with 3 long haired adults.
