Boring stain question

School polo shirt with I think red pepper soup stain down the front. I rinsed it & used a vanish bar, but now it’s washed & the stain is still there.

Do I vanish bar again? Soak in bio liquid? Is there a secret trick?

I hang all stains in the sun, sometimes for a couple of days. It works most of the time.

Coldhandscoldheart · 05/09/2020 16:28

Oh yes, I have put it outside (in the rain, but there must be some uv there). Perhaps that will do it if I leave it.

Is it white? Put a bit of bleach on it then stick back in the wash?

dementedpixie · 05/09/2020 16:47

bleach can make white items go yellow. Try with the bar or washing up liquid again and rub it in well before washing with bio powder. Powders are better than liquids as they contain bleaches

Coldhandscoldheart · 05/09/2020 16:51

It is white. Maybe I’ll have another go with the bar.

Sunshine sunshine sunshine. Even if there isn’t any.

Soak overnight in biological washing powder, then do a long wash, as hot as the garment will tolerate. Hang in the sun. This shifts most stains.

Coldhandscoldheart · 05/09/2020 18:29

Hot? Won’t that fix it? Dunno, I thought either extreme was a jojo.

Even inside by the window lets the UV get to the stain. Keep wetting the stain. The O in H2O stands for oxygen, which is what does the bleaching when combined with sunlight.

I soak anything heavily stained in Biotex solution overnight It's never failed me Even removed Permanent hair dye from a cream top For everyday stains I smear on neat fairy liquid before washing
