Can't get lights out

Our celiing has those sunken in lights, looks a bit like these lights
The bulbs are those sort with the two prong thingies. 8 out of the 9 lights have now gone but we can't get the durn things out of the celing. Thegold surround doesn't appear to unscrew and we've pressed and fiddled.
Help!

maybe more like this as there's no baffle ring

Try attaching a suction pad to them and pulling - we had a light fitting with those bulbs once and it came with suction pads to get the bulbs out. It was from John Lewis so if you're really stuck they might be able to give you one to use. Hope this helps!

Ta. Will be cooking by torchlight soon! When we have the celing redone we'll get sensible lights

Do they seem to have a wire clip around them? I would suggest going to your local DIY store, seeing if you can find anything similar and taking them out of the box and looking at the instructions.

Some halogens have a metal wire that sits around the outside and you squeeze it to get them out, others you use a suction thing to get them out.

turns out you take the whole thing out. Which is why the plaster is chipped around each fitting. Stupid design and isn't going to last long.
Thanks for all the advice.
