Old Fashioned butter knives

The handles on our old fashioned butter knives have started to crack and go mottled. The handles used to be butter yellow, smooth plastic. Does anyone know where I can buy some more?

Unfortunately I havn't seen these around.

I searched everywhere for a proper butterknife (i.e non serated rounded end) to replace ours when it finally broke. I really struggled to find any butterknife. In the end I found an 'old fanshioned' kitchen store which had quite a few to chose from - but none with a traditional handle.

If you get desperate I would be happy to see if they still have any in and post one to you.

Some here (scroll down to 'Range of useful knives') but not cheap.

Sue - I'm butting in here, but our bone one is ivory coloured (!) whereas our plastic one is butter yellow... I did have the same thought though, as bone ones can't go in the dishie.

ba-BUM

MrsCellarfullofbones · 07/10/2007 08:24

LOL. Nah... just like regular butter knives, except they hold doors open, walk on the road side of a lady etc etc.....
