Morning everyone - didn't check in yesterday as I was exhausted by evening - went to bed at 9 after supper of half a bag of Dorito's - perhaps not the best pregnancy diet but it was the only thing the baby could face eating!! HOWEVER I did all my morning routine (5 min room rescue broken into 2 2 min room rescues) and did shine my sink and lay clothes out for me and ds before falling exhausted into bed - though shiny sink meant putting dirty dishes on counter rather than actually washing them .

I am stunned and amazed that with these really very tiny things my house is TIDY when it was such a bombsite only a week ago, and I have had lots of time to play with ds too ...despite first trimester exhaustion and sick dp this week. I still don't understand how this FLY magic works but it's fabulous!!

AND ds is having a lie in this morning, it's 6.50 and he's still not awake, so I have the luxury of drinking coffee and reading threads before I go to dress to shoes. Nice!

Will write inspirational thoughts down as I can, but I don't have 15 mins worth! When I've FLYed before, I haven't consistently done the positive thinking bit, and I think it's making a big difference this time. Anyone fancy sharing an inspirational thought or two?

TrinityRhino · 06/10/2007 07:49

anyone want to come and police the terrible three so I can shine my sink??
I want to fly but EVERYTHING is SOOOOOOOOO full of shit and dirty and disorganised that there is no space to move, nothing to wear to put in the kids to put them outside to give me a tiny nit of mindsoace to think about trying to hine my sink

TrinityRhino · 06/10/2007 07:49

oh god, sorry I shouldn't have ruined your nice thread
sorry

systemsaddict · 06/10/2007 08:07

Oh (((((((((((((TrinityRhino)))))))))))) it's OK!! Come and join us!! The whole reason I am doing this is because I have been EXACTLY where you are and this is the only thing that has ever helped me; we have all been there, this is why we are on this thread!!

Now we are only babystepping here, and to be honest I think the most important babystep is turning the negative thoughts into positive ones, so I reckon if you're up and dealing with three kids you are already doing a tough job and should give yourself a reward and a pat on the back (and probably chocolate). If at any point today you get to give the sink a swipe then that's a bonus and you've done a babystep.

And BTW Flylady says shining the sink counts even if all the dirty dishes have to be piled up on the counter next to it, it doesn't mean you have to get the whole kitchen tidy first.

LOL @ 'attacking with love' the gecko btw ....

beautifuldays · 06/10/2007 09:49

oh trinity poor you. i know exactly how you feel. am managing the baby steps but the vast majority of my house is still a pile of crap, esp my bedroom, i don't even know where to start.

ah well am leaving my brats with their dad so i can go do the weekly shop in peace!

TrinityRhino · 06/10/2007 09:57

thanks guys

haven't got anywhere near the sink yet

beautifuldays · 06/10/2007 17:07

if any one lives near a nettos, they've got shiny sink wipes for 79p, just got me a packet, so now i've got no excuse for not having a shiny sink

systemsaddict · 06/10/2007 19:33

TrinityRhino how did the rest of the day go? Have been thinking of you and sending good peaceful vibes!

beautifuldays · 06/10/2007 19:35

hows it going trinity? are the children in bed giving you some peace now? hope so

funnypeculiar · 06/10/2007 20:43

evening all

Am pretty much back on the wagon - have just done my eve hotspot & my 15 mins decluttering.
Sink still shiny

TR - hope gecko et al have behaved themselves. Cheesy as it is, I do find the whole idea of flylady helpful purely becuase it stops me going 'aghhhh, my whole house is a tip, I don't know where to start'. Being told exactly what to do makes the whole thing that bit more manageable. That said, I've fallen behind already & we're only on day 11 . But I am determinated to keep on the thread and keep trying!!

And systemaddict, I don't have 15 mins of inspirational thought either! What I have written in to myself though is that sorting the house will be better for the kids. I grew up in a very, very chaotic household. It was lovely in lots of ways (I was one of four, and there was always lots of fun & laughter), I was always embaressed when I bought people back to the house & saw the carnage through their eyes. Really want my kids to feel proud of bringing people back (they're onyl 3.5 & 19 mths, but it may take a while for me to restore order

SuperMonkey · 06/10/2007 21:48

I can't see myself getting much done at the weekends. I don't see DP much in the week and I'm loathed to spend time doing chores when I do get to see him. I'm still doing the important stuff like keeping the sink clean, loading and unloading the dishwasher, trying to stop clutter from building up. I really don't feel like spending 15 minutes decluttering a room though.

So shoot me .

unknownrebelbang · 06/10/2007 23:02

I've struggled today, and I think it's the opposite to supermonkey in that DH is at work this weekend, grrr, and I'm chauffeur again. Had to make three trips to karate between us, and three trips to gangshow rehearsals, complete pita, lol.

Didn't bother getting dressed until lunchtime, but hey it's the weekend and I don't get the chance very often (dh did the first run).

Anyhoo:

Ok........not done much at all yet, but my plan is:

Exercise bike
Reminders, routine and journal, etc
Deleted emails and making a concerted effort to clear old stuff too(day 12)

shiny sink - grrrrrrrrr, DH forgot to remind DS1, so he did it first thing, and it's shiny now.

Hot spot - DH's bedside table.

Five min room rescue - quick flirt around the utility.

15 mins - sorting out the towels and putting them away.

My personal 15 mins was stretched again - watching casualty with DS2 being cuddled, he was shattered, bless him.

Day 13 - a mission! Is it cheating to get DS1 to do the mission on my behalf?? Anyway he did - he tidied up the hall for me, whilst I was sorting out yet more washing.

mylastrolo · 07/10/2007 20:36

Exercise bike (TWICE!!)
Reminders, routine and journal, etc
Deleted emails
Read an essay (day 14) About keeping a calender, I'm fairly organised when it comes to dates and things - have to be with my three. Maybe I should get DH to read it, lol.

Hot spot - Lounge window ledge.

Five min room rescue - my ensuite

15 mins - sorting out some paperwork.

My personal 15 mins - might do my legs before I go to bed... not sure yet.
