Bathroom flooring question.

We have cream carpet in our bathroom (I know it's but was chosen by previous, possibly child-free owners!), and I'm thinking of changing it for something else. I actually wouldn't mind having more carpet- I like the soft underfoot thing when I get out of the bath and DH says there's loads of spare up in the loft. So should I go for using the spare carpet in a dark colour or go for something like carpet tiles. Or just go for something completely different.
Any help/views gratefully received.

Carpet in bathroom. Eugggghhhh.

I've had Amtico ( a sort of vinyl tile) in the past and would recommend it - warmish underfoot and easy to clean, etc

carpet is unhygienic

go for tiles or vinyl (tiles can be cold) or paint the floorboards (thats what i did) and buy a nice thick soft cosy washable mat

We have Dalsouple rubber flooring - warm and you can sluice it down as and when.

Personally I would NEVER put carpet in a bathroom. Particularly, if you have small boys (or even big boys) whose aim is not spot on. We moved into a house a year ago where the carpet was welded to the floor round the toilet for this reason - we changed it immediately for an offcut of vinyl as an interim measure and we are just about to have stone put down -although I know not everyone likes hardfloors in bathrooms.

I just don't think carpets in bathrooms are very practical even taking aside misaimed wee) - just splashes are likely to rot the carpet after a bit of time.

Thanks for your responses; I'll look into what you've all got. Guess I won't be having carpet again though!
