What's the easiest way to clean blinds?

What kind of blind? Venetian, Roman, roller etc?

I had Venetian blinds in my old house. Absolute bastard to clean properly and the tape/rope which holds them together collects the dust you are trying to remove?

I had one in the kitchen too which collected grease and the only way to clean that one was with hot soapy water. Made an unholy mess. Bain of my life. Listed in top 5 reasons I was glad to sell that house!
