Talk to me about steam mops

Really want a steam mop. I'm tempted by the shark klik and flip automatic steam mop, however at £150 it's quite an investment for me as I'm still on furlough. Don't want to buy a cheaper model and regret it later though.

Is it that much better than the cheaper shark models? I have a shark vacuum and I love it so that's the brand I'm tempted by but have you got any other recommendations?

I had one, but it never seemed to clean anything. I couldn't work out where the dirt was supposed to go? I got rid of it in the end. I can steam clean more effectively with an old rag and a bucket of hot water

I have a cheap one and I love it, except it doesn’t have a removable reservoir. So I have to tip it awkwardly over the bath or toilet to drain it. Get one with a reservoir that clips in so you can fill and empty it easily. I don’t think I’d spend as much as £150. Mine cost about £30 from Asda, several years ago. There must be an inbetween option?

Honestly? Not worth the hype. If you are really keen get a cheaper one.

I have the klik and flip and love it. Got it three weeks ago from QVC online, £76 delivered free. Cheapest I could find and well worth the money for the time it saves me.

Is it the shark one in particular that you don't think is worth the hype? Or steam mops in general? I've heard really good things about the shark one. I have a dog who trails in wet footprints but hate spending loads of time cleaning floors. Grin

They don't clean, they just steam. I haven't used mine for ages once I discovered that if you use it and then use a cloth after, you will find the cloth is as dirty as you would expect an unwashed floor to be.

Love mine. I had an excellent and not expensive vax one

I have just got the Shark Klik and Flip mop for £76 and it's good. Only used it for the first time tonight so we shall see tommorow if it's still good!

SavoyCabbage · 27/07/2020 22:16

Mine is a Morphy Richards one. I bought extra cloths to put on it and change them as I go. I think it’s really good. It was about £30.

Is that the manual klick and flip that's white? I can't find the automatic one for less that £149 but if the manual one is great then maybe I'll go for that instead!
