Washed clothes smell like mould, help

My clothes were coming out a bit musty smelling so I put the washing machine on a 3hr 90 degree bleach wash.
There was specs of grey floating in the wash (what looked like build up of detergent, lint and softener) and they were sat on the seal and drum when the wash finished so I rinsed through with a 30 degree quick wash.
They were still there so I done another bleach 90 degree wash and then quick wash to rinse again. This time it was gone and I put a load on expecting my clothes to smell nice again but no...
My clothes now smell like stale mould when they've dried. I know what this smells like because my mum used to have a wooden mouldy wardrobe and all the clothes that were inside it smelled this way.

Is there any way that I can sort this out?! I will buy a new machine on finance if needs be as I can't afford to buy it outright just now but I would really rather fix my current machine

I would also have a good clean of the rubber seal with any kind of cleaning stuff you have. They can get really nasty and take quite a time to clean up.

I always put it straight in the drum. No issues here.

Yes you can put powder in the drum. Or contact the washing powder company and they'll send you a free "astronaut helmet" (drum powder dispenser)

I never use the drawer either

Domestos washing machine cleaner?

I used this last week after clothes started to smell damp and mouldy. I cleaned filter and emptied wash pipe to check no clogs and then the washing machine cleaner. Worked

Definitely going to use it again as maintenance

I’ve stopped using softener and every fortnight I scrub the draw tunnel bit and hot bleach wash, works a treat now. I hate pods and actually told by an engineer don’t use them the clog up machines. Calhoun I use as well buy mine in bulk. 75 tablets for £17

Don't drink vinegar from a spoon - it rots your teeth and has no health benefit. Your stomach is already acidic.

And leave the door open for a while after use to dry.

Yes @wowfudge is right - a quick google shows me that this is no longer considered good for you! Ignore that part. Grin
