Hi all, my stainless steel hob and splashback Are a few years old now and never look clean, there are lots of marks, spots, stains etc and the hob is unfortunately scratched.

Does anyone know how I can get it back to looking anything like it should do?

Oil it. Clean it first and then get a soft, lint free cloth and dab vegetable oil in it and use it to buff. Sounds mad, totally works.

@DonLewis thanks, I’ve tried but unfortunately not done the job.

My Koh cleaner diamond sponge lifted probably 50% of the marks I had in our stainless steel splash back. Going to try again to see if I can lift the rest.

Barkeeper's Friend might be worth a try. Brilliant stuff.

Whatever product you use, use it with a microfibre cloth - I find it's the cloth that makes the difference with the finish you get. Same with tv/computer screens.

Neat bleach . Wipe off with wet microfiber cloth

Second bar keepers friend, I use it on my stainless steel range and brings it up perfect!

The pink stuff.

I use the pot instead of the spray and it removed all the stains from my hob and sink.
Amazing stuff.
