Towel storage

We're having our bathroom re-done in a few weeks. We currently store towels in a wooden box in the bathroom (which is downstairs) and have no airing cupboard.

When the new bathroom is installed, we'll have no room for the box. We could probably fit a small cupboard in there but not enough to house them all.

Where do you store your towels? And how many do you have?

Freshly washed towels are kept in each persons wardrobe. Have pax, and those pull out wire baskets at the base of the wardrobe or the internal draw units are perfect for towels/linen - and use ikea drawers organisers for small items in between eg for wash clothes, helps ensure it all stays tidy and loads of room still for other items that might need storing . Each person has 4-6 towels in their wardrobe, and it takes up less than a 1/3rd of such baskets if 100 cms wide, if the towels are folded and stacked properly.

I have a towel problem too as don’t have an airing cupboard. Bailey what do you do when the towels are damp? We end up draping them over radiators.

Roll them up and stick them in the airing cupboard..but definitely roll and stack. Saw it on Kim and Aggie, definiyely the only way forward.

I could just about fit a small kallax in there I guess, then roll and shove?

We have a cupboard at the top of the stairs and used to keep towels on a shelf until the moths moved in. Still there, but now in a zip up bag. In bathroom, we have a towel radiator which would hold a number of dry towels, but only two big bath sheets can dry on it.

I change hand towels every day. Have about ten for bathroom and similar for kitchen. Bath sheets - I have two that are exclusively for my use. Four for the men in the house - they share cos they don't care, and they're washed more often. Rotated so only two out at a time.

I used to have loads of towels, but have got rid of a lot. The only others I have now are beach towels (in cupboard) and two old towels that are used when I colour my hair or bath the dog.

Towels in the bathroom hung on a rack or a loop thing. Spare towels rolled up and kept in a hamper in the bedroom, they don't need to be stored in the bathroom.

We've got about 10 bath sheets and a similar number of hand towels. They're all in a very large wooden box with a lid at the foot of our bed except for a few spares for guests in the spare room wardrobe.

We have a huge built in cupboard in the hallway for towels, bed and table linen and spare duvets and blankets. God I love that cupboard! Parents have this in their bathroom as its narrow and tall LILLÃ…NGEN from Ikea

Mine and DH hang off the towel radiator (have one that is both a regular radiator and towel radiator in one). DC’s hang on the back of their bedroom door, as it’s the only thing hanging there it tends to be ok. They each have a hook rail on the back of their bedroom door half way down which means they can open it up across several hooks, so towel dries quickly. I tend to grab them and throw them in the wash whenever I am doing their washing as they have spares in the wardrobe.

In the airing cupboard. I'd guess 25? I have no real idea!
