Exciting question....sellotape residue

Sorry this is not the most exciting question but how do I get very old sellotape residue off the side of a fridgefreezer? It's gone yellow / orange with age and I don't want to scrape the paint off my new (well second hand but new to me!) smeg fridge. Any ideas?

Spray with furniture polish and leave for a while. It should wipe off with a cloth. My late dear dad taught me this and it's come in handy a few times!

I’m sure I’ve heard that WD40 does the job, I think it’s an oil thing

As in “the thing that sorts it is oil” not that “WD40 is an oil thing” 😂

Thanks Gimme! The fridge looks great now thanks to you. I tried the furniture polish trick first and it worked GrinGrin. Very happy! And so is my fridge...

White spirit sees off all kinds of sticky stuff, especially old plasters
