Best cordless hoover, GO!

Ok I have posted before and was advised to look at Shark lift away but I can't do it, can't use a cord or the faff or putting it back together!

Need a great true cordless, battery life not as important as suction! Our Dyson V7 has died (again) and our cat is shedding! Help!!

Realistically budget is £400 ish but throw all ideas my way. The last Dyson was £270 and has only lasted 2yrs (has been used daily and been through a huge renovation so I'm not complaining).

I hate the GO!

But I'll bite, have a shark cordless and really like it (two cats Smile).

goldpendant · 18/07/2020 13:40

Ok sorry, I need it in a hurry!!

Shark cordless 1

I am going to keep a tally

Just brought a Tineco Master A11, will let you know when it arrives on Tuesday! It seemed a good trade off between price, performance and looks for me. I abhor James Dyson so he is never getting money from me.

goldpendant · 18/07/2020 17:40

Anti wrap is on offer on amazon, the anti wrap pet is £100 more. We have one cat. Don't need the pet or will standard suffice?

Disclaimer; we are idiots and bought navy blue stair carpets. They are beautiful but show EVERYTHING. And it's a town house with 5 split staircases.

So we hoover a lot.

Dyson V11 is the best thing ever invented.

goldpendant · 18/07/2020 17:47

Shark: 4

Dyson V11: 1

Tineco: jury's out

Have you done trouble shooting on your Dyson. Sure it's not just blocked. They get blocked very easily.

mlh123 · 19/07/2020 03:58

LG cordzero a9 ultimate, the handle is adjustable which is great for easy use on stairs

LesLavandes · 19/07/2020 05:40

Dyson. I'm pleased with the V10

Chasingsquirrels · 19/07/2020 10:20

I'm very happy with my Tineco (A11 master), although I haven't had any other cordless experience to compare with.

Ds2, whose dad's family has a cordless Dyson (don't know the model) says ours is better because;

  • you can lock it on rather than having to hold the button down all the time.
  • it's got 2 batteries so you can swap them and it lasts longer.

I find it takes more maintenance than my old corded upright (filter cleaning etc) and while at the beginning I think it sucked better than my old corded, last week I vacuumed the lounge with the corded after doing it with the tineco and the corded did get more dust out. The corded was a total pita to use in comparison though having got used to the tineco for the last 6 months. Given that, I might now run the corded over the lounge/playroom carpets every few months, but won't bother with the stairs and upstairs where the dog doesn't go.

goldpendant · 19/07/2020 10:21

With £100 off I am going for the Shark anti wrap. Even if my Dyson is just clogged it's happening every other use and it's a pita taking it apart all the time! Shiny new hoover time!

I'm interested in how you found the Shark? Do you find it very heavy to use one handed? Thank you!

Fedup21 · 22/07/2020 20:06

I love the Dyson cordless-it works as good now as it did when I bought it 3 years ago.

goldpendant · 22/07/2020 20:10

I won't lie.... I don't love it

Heavier than Dyson and not convinced the pick up is much better either. Doesn't manouvre as well - eg I could use the main head attachment of the Dyson on the stairs but the Shark one is all heavy and floppy - but the smaller stairs/upholstery brush doesn't suck up very much.

Nope, kinda wish I'd gone with the devil I knew and upgraded the Dyson!

mommybear1 · 22/07/2020 20:36

Oh no!!! Sorry OP I have to say after a Meile I wasn't convinced by the suction but after seeing what it picked up I was converted. It's ability to go under things as well I liked - I'm hoping after a few more uses you may be converted!

tootiredtoclean · 22/07/2020 20:38

Shark duo pet hair

tootiredtoclean · 22/07/2020 20:39

You'll get used to the "heaviness" I can't believe how much it picks up

nunnun · 22/07/2020 20:43

GTECH for me

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 22/07/2020 20:44

My Dyson V6 Totalclean is still going strong after 4 years. I did recently replace the battery. Only issue is charge length of time but I never use my original corded hoover anymore, unless I have broken glass to clear up.
