Turn off your heating and buy a decent dehumidifier. You will need to spend at least £100. It extracts damp from the air. If you get one with an added ioniser the smell goes quicker. Open your back door and windows regularly too. Dry your laundry outside. We had this same problem.

You could buy industrial quantities of bicarb and sprinkle over everything that you rug doctored. Leave it for as long as you possibly can. Open all doors and windows to get a through breeze.

Make sure your vacuum is clean and empty and vacuum up all of the bicarb. May need repeating. Fresh air is your friend. And pp is right, a dehumidifier too.
