Door mat recommendations

I need a large indoor mat for inside the front door to protect the laminate from grubby footprints and an outdoor mat that will take off dirt and wetness as much as possible. I did have a long runner inside but now that I don't have a pushchair leaving tracks I don't need anything as long or as dark coloured.

I'm baffled by all the choice available so looking for recommendations please.

We've literally just unpacked our new Hugrug. We now have 3. There's lots of choice, they don't slip around on the floor and they hold mud really well. Mostly it hoovers off when dry, but they also go in the washing machine and come out looking as good as new. The dog likes them too, and now has one for his spot in the kitchen where he watches us cook (and waits for anything we drop 😊)

Lakeland micro fibre runners are good

Gosh, hug mats are not cheap are they? They do sound worth it though.

Turtle mats are fantastic, stay on the floor, collect the dirt and can be slung in the washing machine, also not cheap and I think a higher price point than hug rugs, but worth the cost in my view.

We have a decorative rubber mat on the outside but the national trust shops sell a beautiful cast iron (I think!) one for outside which I might get soon. We then have coir mats with rug grippers underneath to stop them moving. Love the look of a coir mat and they're easy to clean by shoving them upside down and letting all the bits fall out.

I have 4 Turtlemats, they are brilliant. They are expensive but last forever and I machine wash and line dry them when grubby.

I'm now admiring Turtlemats.... but Hugrugs give you 15% off your first order if you order direct from them, so a bit of a saving.

My Dunelm washable Marvel mat still looks good after 8 years.

Another vote for Turtle Mats - 4 boys and a dog here, and one at every door keeps the muck at a level I find acceptable.

Kaleidoscope have a sale on 25% off and free delivery - their coir mats are lovely, great designs and nice big, thick mats.
