Shell energy... opinions?

British Gas are having our eyes out - 3 bed 3 storey, 2 adults and 14 month old and on a smart meter and paying £110 a month for gas and electricity. Our friends over the road - 2 adults, one 5 and one 3 YO, semi were paying £90ish for gas and electricity a month, again with British Gas. She's switched to She'll after going on compare the market and is going to be saving around £40 a month. I did a comparison for ours and we'd save £30 a month which over the year is amazing!

Reviews for both Shell and BG are mixed so just after some opinions please 😊

My parents have had massive issues with Shell. Admittedly it's due to the fact they don't like doing things online, however, trying to speak to an actual person has been almost impossible. They were threatening debt collectors and my parents were frantic

We use Shell. Pay £85 for a 2 bed semi.
I'm happy to do everything online so works for me, I've never had any issue that would need contacting them for though.
I did join the waiting list for a smart meter 2 years ago, which they said would be max 1 year. I still don't have one so have to submit meter readings every month.
